Whimsy Stamps ~ It's Boo Time!

Hey crafty friends, I'm back with another spooky but cute creation featuring an adorable stamp set by Crissy Armstrong. I always adore her imagery and her Halloween stamp sets are some of my favourites! I have a too cute to spook creation to share with you today. It's a mini slimline card design. I ink blended a base panel with Villainous Potion and Milled Lavender and used a cool die from Whimsy to cut the apertures in the panel. This die is called the Mini Slim Pickens 1 Die. They often do such fun play on words with the names of their stamp and die sets at Whimsy and this one amused me, 'slim pickings', clever right?! I love their mini slimline range. They have a great selection of fun elements for mini slimline cards and these have become a bit of a favourite for me to make. It's a really nice size to work with.

I've had quite the journey with this creation and the best way to experience this if you've a few minutes, is to watch the video I created, so I'll share that below. I've used a super fun mix of elements from Whimsy, a page from their Bookeh Paper Pack for the background, the little mini pumpkins from the Pumpkin and Mini Jacks Die Set.

I've added 3 of the ghosts from the Boo Die Set to add a little extra ghostly flair and the little character ghosts are from Crissy Armstrong's Ghost Party Clear Stamp Set. I stamped the ghost characters in Memento London Fog ink, so they would look ethereal and ghostly and then coloured the images with a mix of very light Copic Marker colours to add to the ghostly look. For those who like to know the Copic Marker colours, here's what I used. Frank ~ Body: G24, 21 and 20 plus G40. Frank's Hair: N9, 7, 5 and 3. Frank's Bolts: C1, 0 and 00. Ghost Witch ~ Body: BG02, 01, 000 and 0000. Witch Hat: N5, 3, 2, 1 and 0. Witch Hat Band: BV02, 00, 000 and 0000. Ghost Vampire ~ Body: BV02, 00, 000 and 0000. Vampire Hair and Cape: C3, 2, 1, 0 and 00. Pumpkin: YR09, 07, 04 and Y17. Chocolate Bar ~ Orange: YR18, 16 and 14. Brown: E29, 27, 25 and 23. Blue Green Lolly: BG49, BG57 and 53. Striped Lolly ~ Green: G24, 21 and 20. Blue: B66, 63 and 60.

I hope you enjoy watching this little step through my creative process with this adorable stamp set, I shared more of my creative journey with this make, including colour choices based on a colour wheel. It's a bit of a look at the deeper steps in my process, but feel free to fast forward if that's not your jam!
