Whimsy Stamps ~ Christmas is on the Way

Hey crafty friends, I'm back with some Christmas creations today. I want to make more with these elements. These were quick and easy to make and really enjoyable! I've been doing an Online Card Class this week and it's been really lovely seeing everyone's creations. This design is different from the ones in the classes, but definitely inspired by them. I enjoyed taking the classes this week. We were encourage to use what was in our stash, which suits me perfectly and meant I could create with stash I love.

I used two different background stamps to create these two cards. The green one I used the fabulous Criss Cross Gingham Background Stamp and some Spruce VersaFine Clair ink to add the stamped detail. I had initially masked off the centre, so the green diecut panel could be added back in place, but I smudged some of the ink which would have shown through. So I trimmed a piece of white cardstock and backed the panel. Since I had to do that, it gave me to opportunity to pop that panel up on foam for a bit of dimension and interest, so I added a 2mm foam mount to the panel. My final touch was to add a tiny white sparkly heart in the top right corner. This design really didn't need embellishing, but I wanted to add that little subtle touch.

The red design was done in a very similar way. But the first point of difference was that this word die was cut from white glitter foam from Spellbinders, so has lovely dimension built in. I did mask off the central area of this card, to keep that section red and then did the white heat embossed design over the mask, I used the Brushed Stripes Background Stamp for this design. I lifted the mask afterwards to reveal the preserved central section. I then glued down the glitter foam panel adding back the counters to complete the letters. I also did this with the green panel, which was also made with the negative of this word die set. I will share the designs that use the positives of these dies very soon. I also finished this card with a tiny white heart in the top right corner.

Just in case you missed my last post, we have a fun event happening at Whimsy Stamps right now. We are sharing our 'Top 9' boards with our favourite Whimsy Stamps makes from across the year. I've shared two and have another to share soon too. You can check out the fun in our Facebook Group. Just click through on the banner above to head there.

We've also just had the most wonderful release at Whimsy Stamps. It's full of fun and fabulous stamp, die, stencil and quick card front sets, perfect for the holidays! I'm waiting for my order to arrive, as there were definitely a few things I wanted to get! I love the look of those Dicken's Winter Scene Background Stamps. I'm itching to get my hands on the Christmas Washi Stickers too. They look so fun! Just when you think no new innovations are surely possible. Whimsy does it again! Their innovations are some of my favourites. They were the first to bring Slimline Dies to the market, they are the first to bring their awesome NoFuss Masks to the market and now the Washi Stickers. I've seen other stickers out there sure, but none quite like these innovative Bottle Label Washi Stickers. I loved the Halloween ones, so I'm super excited to see the Christmas ones up close. The team have been creating magical makes with these already! I will be back again soon with another crafty adventure. Hope you're all having a great week. Thanks for stopping in to visit my little corner of the blogosphere. Leave me a comment if you've time, I'd love to come visit you too. Hugs, Wends xoxo

(I share thumbnails to the elements I design with in order to make your search for them easier, in case you like something I've used. I do use affiliate links where possible, and so appreciate if you use these when shopping. They cost you no extra whatsoever. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
