Whimsy Stamps ~ One Last Halloween Trick or Treat Card

Crafty friends, I made this card, soon after I made my potion bottles card, but totally forgot to share it here! So forgive me, but I have one last Halloween card to share!

This card came about because I wanted to use the left over glow in the dark foil from making my Potions Bottle creation. You can see that make here. I didn’t want to waste that fabulous glow in the dark foil, so I took the foil which I'd cut the letters from and just diecut around them with the shadow die to get this cool 'negative' of the original dies. It resulted in this cool word art frame, allowing the background Halloween Inks paper to peek through, which when you’ve got paper this delish, is a happy accident all ‘round!

I added the foil to the ghost's eyes too, even the tiniest ghost. I used a tiny hand held hole punch to cut those out and stuck them on the little ghost that is part of the paper. It's quite a nice surprise when you turn out the lights and have forgotten they glow! Spooky cute right?!

I'm in the middle of writing the Whimsy Stamps Spooky Hollow Chronicles right now, something I do during our Halloween season to share all the news and fun. I'll link it here when it's live, to share it with those of you who would like to read a copy. It brings lots of magical inspiration together all in one place which is fun and if you read the digital version rather than printing it out, the links are clickable! I'll link it as soon as I'm done writing it.

I diecut two extra ghosts from Foundations Blacktop Cardstock from Cardstock Warehouse to add to this scene. I loved the little black ghost that was part of the paper, so decided to build on that theme. This little ghost is from the Boo Die Set. It's one of my most used Halloween Die Sets, it's fabulous and a go to bit of stash for me year after year. The big ghost is from the Peeking Ghosts Die Set. He was just perfect to anchor this whole scene and I really love how this card turned out. I've used the gorgeous Rust Cardstock from Cardstock Warehouse to matt the card panel and then mounted it onto more of the Foundations Blacktop Cardstock which is a lovely quality matte black cardstock.

We've had such a treat working with these beautiful papers from Cardstock Warehouse over the last couple of months. I had some others in my stash too, so have used those in places, such as the Foundations Blacktop Cardstock in this card, and the Pink Lemonade Cardstock in my Advent creations. I have a few bits and pieces left over, which is really lovely, because I definitely want to use these lovely papers some more! If you live in America, I encourage you to check them out, especially whilst their coupon code is still valid. I believe they have sample packs available and some mixed packs too, so do check them out. Paper is heavy to ship internationally, so not so easy for me to get hold of, but I did find the two packs I have on Amazon, which was a treat, so I'll be looking out for those options again.

Halloween is well and truly over for this year, the candy buckets are almost empty and I've almost finished writing the final edition of our Halloween Chronicles for 2025, which wraps up the season for me so nicely. If you enjoy Halloween, these newsletters hold lots of inspiration from our incredibly talented Halloweeners Design Team, so feel free to download them, once I've added them here. Thank you for your support and your indulgence during the Halloween season, I know my blog gets very Halloween swamped! I'll be back with the link for the Chronicles and eventually a 'non-Halloween' post! Hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo

I do use affiliate links where possible, although some of my affiliate links are not currently working due to changes in the affiliate platforms. I share my links mainly to help you find elements you may also enjoy crafting with. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.
