Whimsy Stamps ~ Christmas Gift Tags
Hey crafty friends, I have been creating for Christmas and have a bundle of tags to share today. They're all a little different, but were made with one central idea. To use die elements in my stash that aren't traditionally 'tags'. I had so much fun with this idea and I have a video step through my process too if you're interested.
The first batch of tags I made, I used a die set I have really loved over the years, but was soon retiring. It has retired now, just ahead of me posting the tags, but I adored how these came together and the elements used on these tags could be used on other tag shapes too, so felt it was still worth sharing these. For this first set of tags, I used a cute new stamp set from Crissy Armstrong called Christmas Portraits for these sweet elves and the Santa version. I used a different set for the sweet deer, an older set from Crissy called Christmas Deer. These little 'head shots' were just perfect for the focal point on these tags.
I used a couple of really cool tag stamp sets for the sentiments on these tags. They're so fun and can be used with the coordinating tag die sets or stand alone as very cool sentiments with fabulous graphic design detailing for each sentiment. They're fabulous and I know I'll be reaching for these during the year as I try to get ahead with a bit of Christmas crafting.
This sweet Santa tag I had such fun making and the details of my process is well explained in the video I made whilst making these tags. I'll add the video below which you can watch here in the blog post or you can click through to YouTube if you'd like to watch it popped up bigger.
For this set of tags, I pulled out the cutest little cutting board die which is part of a bigger set of Baking Dies, it's a really fun set that works well with Whimsy's baking themed elements. I but the boards from white cardstock and added detail with a large background stamp, the process of this is in my video.
For this cute set, I made a candy cane background with one of Whimsy's large background rubber stamp sets. This one was designed by Crissy Armstrong I believe and it has really fun brush-stroke diagonal lines. Perfect not just for candy cane stripes but all year 'round! I used the ticket portion of the ticket die sets to cut the sentiment panel and simply stamped the fabulous sentiments from those fun ticket stamp sets in Black VersaFine Ink for a stylish finish. I added some red and white baker's twine from my stash and some black May Arts Twine to complete these tags. I added eyelets for a nice finish to all my tags except the cutting board version, which had the eyelet whole as part of the design and I didn't feel needed the eyelets added.
These last two tag shapes are a little more simple. I used a quirky die as the base of the design, this is Whimsy's Mix and Match Marquee Die Set. I think this shape made really fun tags and I had such a good stash of tags for my family parcels this year, I was really pleased with them all. The extended family really enjoyed them too, the kids thought their parcels were pretty cute with the Santas, Reindeer and Elves on them too. The Elves I'd given hair colours to match my nieces, which wasn't lost on them and was a cute detail enjoyed by them.
I had so much fun creating these tags and as promised here is the video which steps through my process creating these. I hope you'll take a minute to watch it if you enjoyed the tags. I'm trying to do a few more videos of my creations and I hope folks will enjoy them.
The video covers all the details of these tag makes, so I'll leave the blog entry here. I hope you enjoy the step through and I'll be back again soon with another crafty adventure to share with you very soon. Hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo

(I share thumbnails to the elements I design with, in order to make your search for them easier, in case you like something I've used. I do use affiliate links where possible, and so appreciate if you use these when shopping. They cost you no extra whatsoever. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
