Sweet Stampin' ~ Halloween or Halloween Colours

Hey crafty friends, it's time for a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin' and this week, we want to see your Halloween creations or creations which feature Halloween colours. So lots of scope there. I have been down with a yucky chest cold this week, so I'm running in a little late for this challenge, but really wanted to join in as I had something in mind for it.

I missed out on creating with this adorable image by Crissy Armstrong last year, it was a freebie with Whimsy Stamps World Cardmaking Day celebration. I loved it so much, I was eager to ensure it got coloured up this year! I think her images are so adorable and I loved this sweet kitty on his big pumpkin.

I rummaged through my Whimsy Stamps Halloween sets to find a cute sentiment that would work this cutie and stamped it directly on the patterned paper. I added a cute sub-sentiment onto the pumpkin, which I think was a fun finish for this card. I've always thought this Trick or Treat kiddies chant was fun, so it was so cool to find it in one of my Whimsy stamp sets. They think of it all!

I found a rather gorgeous paper from the Whimsy Stamps Haunted Graveyards Paper Pack. This pack is choc full of gorgeous blue and purple hues with awesome Halloween scenes. I played around with a few different options, but came back to this fabulous scene, as I think the kitty fits there so nicely. The paper fills in the scene behind him so effortlessly.

All I added to the scene was a few extra sparkles to the paper with my gelly roll sparkle pen, filling the sky with stars. I distressed the edges of the paper and mounted this onto a kraft square card base to finish. The card is slightly smaller than the 6x6 paper, so no edge shows. I quite like this edge to edge finish on cards and think the distressed paper edge finishes them nicely. I'm so glad to be feeling a little better today and able to finish this fun make. I've used my Whimsy watermark on this last image, as I'll be sharing this card there too.

Head on over to the Sweet Stampin' Blog to see what my talented teamies got up to with this theme, they're a madly talented bunch and have come up with some awesome designs, so do stop in to check them out. If you're crafting for Halloween, come and join our fun too! We'd love to see what you create. Hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo
