Whimsy Stamps ~ Candy Box Treats

Hey crafty friends, I'm back with my next creation made using the recent Halloween Release at Whimsy Stamps. I so love the sweet witch images Crissy drew for the Halloween Night Stamp Set, I really wanted to do another make with this set. Thinking ahead to needing a few treat boxes and bags for our Trick or Treaters Halloween Night, I created a cute little party box style treat box just following a template I had in my stash. There are loads of templates like this available from places like craft magazines which often offer them as free downloads. Well worth keeping a little folder of templates when you come across them.

I traced the template onto my chosen cardstock, which is actually a lightweight, slightly lavender hued (cheap!) watercolour paper from K-Mart. A good weight to easily score and fold, but heavy enough to hold its shape nicely once made up.

I masked off the top of the box once made up and ink blended some green oxide ink onto one side. I used Shabby Shutters for the ink blending and then splattered two green Mica Stains over this for a bit of interest and 'magical sparkles'. I used Fresh Lime from the Dylusions line and Wicked Elixir from the Distress Mica Spray Stains collection.

I coloured this adorable witch with my Copic Markers in cute bright colours for a fun and playful finish. I topped the box with a small solid web shape from the new Nested Webs Die Set which I had sprayed generously with Iron Gate Mica Spray Stain, I added one of the lovely large webs diecut from white cardstock over this and just shaped it in place for some extra interest and finished the box with a cute 'spider on his web' topped mini clothes peg which I had in my stash.

Such a fun treat to hand out at Halloween, the little kiddies love this kind of thing, so I'll be making more of these wee treat boxes over the next few weeks in preparation for Halloween Night. This one is quite large, it can fit several pieces of candy, so I'll only be making a couple this larger size. The next ones I'll use a smaller template, which will fit 2 or 3 candy pieces, to make the candy cache last a little longer!

We are four days into our first fabulous Halloween release of the season at Whimsy Stamps and it's full of such super cuteness, definitely 'my style' of Halloween! Thank you friends for popping in today, I will be back again soon and I send hugs and thanks for indulging my random Halloween joys! Hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo

(I use affiliate links where possible, which helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice. I receive a small commission, which costs you no extra whatsoever, but helps these companies see where their marketing efforts are most effective and is a way they can say 'thank you' to their affiliates and design team members. I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own. a fabulous treat bag featuring this adorable little witch, love the way it closes with the spider and the web. Good idea to make smaller versions- it will cost you a small fortune to fill large ones- and no one wants their kiddies to eat too many sweeties!
