Whimsy Stamps ~ Cutest Halloween Night Stamp Set
Hey friends, I'm back with a fun creation using the Halloween Night Stamp Set from the New Halloween Release at Whimsy Stamps. I have already made two creations with this adorable stamp set and I'm working on a third. I just love Crissy Armstrong's sweet witch images and she's done it again with this set. Cute and sassy wrapped up in the one set. These bats though, they too are beyond adorable and there are some super cute creations appearing from the rest of the team in our Facebook Group featuring this set, so be sure to pop by and check those out if you're able.
I have used a combination of fabulous elements on this make from the New Halloween Release. This gorgeous paper, is from the new BOOkeh Paper Pack, so aptly named, as it has a bunch of spooky imagery overlaid on bokeh style papers, it's a really fun pack for Halloween makes. I chose this cute swirling pumpkins one, because I loved the colour combination and it was perfect for the way I'd coloured up my wee witchy. I gave her an aubergine coloured dress and dark Auburn hair and I thought it was a fun match for this paper. I wanted to play on the swirling pumpkins and magical feel of that, so used the Boho Basic Stitches Die Set to add some swirly layers around her. I used a gorgeous orange glitter cardstock from Simon Says Stamp to create the web layer she's sitting on, but wanted to set her apart a little from the background, so overlaid some black tulle net to soften the brightness of the orange glitter cardstock and let this scheming wee witchy take centre stage. She looks like she's brewing up a really good spell!
She was such fun to colour and I didn't want to dress her in black, but still wanted a dark palette, so the aubergine I thought was perfect for her dress and under the brim of her hat. The sparkle hasn't shown up in these pics, but the hair bow is sparkly and so are her red clogs. Don't you just love her cute clogs?! I had fun making her green like Elphaba, though the first set of pics I took, the blending looked a little off, so I redid the colour on her face this morning, which has softened the blend and looks better while still allowing some shadow and contrast.
The cute crescent moon, is from the Boho Moon Die Set. I trimmed off the dangly bits, to have it be a more traditional crescent moon shape. I really like this die and it doubles well as the Boho Moon and more traditional Crescent Moon. It's cut from an iridescent cardstock, so lovely and shiny in reality. I opted to add a simple greeting in the opposing corner, directly on the cardstock, which was a bit tricky with all the texture, but a double emboss worked pretty well. The sentiment is from another super cute new stamp set called Boo Ghosts. I notched the corners of the card base I created from a lovely shimmery purple cardstock I had in my stash. I just used a larger circle punch to do this. It works quite well and I prefer this to leaving the square corners of the card base.
The rest of our awesome Treasures Team and the wider DT at Whimsy are creating some magical pieces with this fantastic first Halloween Release of the season and there are some gorgeous examples above of their amazing creativity. You can click through to the Halloween Release via the banner above for a good look at the whole release. I thank you for popping in today and hope you enjoyed seeing this fun Halloween creation. I'll be back with another creation very soon, until then, hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo
