Whimsy Stamps ~ Sunflower Sympathy Card
Hey crafty friends, I have been in a sombre space and found myself wanting to create another sympathy card tonight. I pulled out one of the panels I had stamped of the beautiful DoveArt Studios Sunflower red rubber stamp from Whimsy Stamps. You may recall I said I'd stamped this image three times in three different colours of Archival Ink, I shared the first one I coloured up here. This time, I used one of the panels I inked up in a brown tone of Archival Ink called Sepia.
I've coloured the panel with Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers. I used the orange and blue from a mixed set I bought recently and I used the Dark Peony and Moss Green I used in the previous version I coloured. I also chose to add some brown and silver metallic flecks into the centre of the sunflower head. I used a set of Kaisercraft glitter pens for this and a Gelly Roll Sparkle pen. This image needs so little else, I chose to keep the design really simple again. I even tore the edges again as I did in the last one I made. But I mounted the panel onto a gorgeous canvas weave burgundy cardstock I've had in my stash a long while. I bought it at an Ally Pally Craft Fair many moons ago, when I still lived in London.
I also used the twine again, because I just loved that finish on the last sunflower card I did and this time added a small handcut tag which I used VersaFine Vintage Sepia Ink to stamp the sympathy sentiment which I took from the Sympathy Life Goes On Clear Stamp Set. I used two of the smaller stamps to create the message I wanted. I finished that tag off with a tiny heart hand held punch and added foam rounds behind the tag to make sure it stayed over the burgundy area, so the heart showed nicely over it.
Thanks for visiting today friends. I hope you like this CAS sympathy card, I do seem to be in that space lately to create these. But I will be back with another crafty make very soon and that I hope will be a little less sombre. If you've not had a chance to check out the May 1st mini release from Whimsy, do click through on the banner above, it'll take you straight there. All the items I've used for this make are linked in the thumbnails below for quick and easy reference too. Hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo
(If you like any of the elements I've created with, I've added thumbnails to make your shopping easier. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever, though more importantly it helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
