Whimsy Stamps ~ Joy Joy Joy

It's getting ever closer to Christmas. My youngest who wasn't feeling the Christmas spirit at all until very recently has suddenly got excited about it. It's very sweet, to see my towering teenager finally filled with some excitement about Christmas. This stamp set embodies that to me, it's just full of joy!

I paired these cute Crissy Armstrong penguins again with this gorgeous JOY Word Die and built the card around it. It wasn't until I was done colouring on this image, that I realised I'd channelled the lovely Allison Arbour's recent colour choice with this sweet set. I had completely adored her colour combo and I'm a huge fan of orange, so was working with a similar colour combo on another card and found myself reaching for a burgundy wine tone. It wasn't until I was completely finished that I realised what I'd done! I think I did mine in reverse, but thank you Allison for sowing that lil' seed of colour creativity, I adore this combo!! Do check out her makes too, they're gorgeous!

I went for a slightly more opulent look and finish with this card. I chose some striking black and white Christmas papers from Whimsy's Christmas Eve 6x6 Paper Pack. I played around with a few different combinations, but I really like how this pairing worked together. The paper with the word Christmas creating the message Christmas Joy with the gold metallic diecut sentiment.

I used the lovely Mix and Match Scallop Rectangles Die Set to create the frame layers. The lovely scalloped layer was cut from Gina K's Plum Punch Cardstock, which toned so well with the Copic Colouring I did.

I added the finished layers which I'd popped up between with foam, onto a landscape top folding card blank and paired it with a black Gina K envelope for a fun and striking finish. I'll have to buy some plum punch envelopes now, because that would have looked really lovely too.
