Whimsy Stamps ~ Happy 21st!
Hey friends, it's my sweet niece Annaliese's 21st birthday today. So I of course needed to pull out my Whimsy Stash and make something special for her! I have bought her a lovely bottle of Rosé Bubbles, so I thought it would be fun to theme the card accordingly.
I used a lovely slimline paper pack from Whimsy Stamps appropriately called 'Champagne'. It's perfect for celebrations and I chose two papers that would coordinate nicely with the theme I had in mind. I'd seen our amazing Whimsy YouTube Team Leader Lisa Mensing create a shaker glass card previously and so loved this idea at the time, I'd tucked it away in my mind for that 'right time' and this was absolutely it.
My sweet niece spent some time in France as part of a student exchange programme and can speak French fluently, so I wanted to buy a 'French Champagne' to celebrate her big day. Mumm, the French Maison Champenoise has collaborated with a New Zealand Winemaker, Jamie Marfell, who has been winemaking for over 18 years in New Zealand's Marlborough region. He has collaborated with Mumm to create the Mumm Marlborough Series, wonderfully bringing together these two worlds. This Rosé is made exclusively from the Marlborough Pinot Noir grape variety and harvested from a single vintage then aged for four years before going to market. This Rosé has notes of Marlborough Summer Berries, but very much a French flavour. So I'm hoping my niece will approve! I have some yummy Lindt chocolates to go with the Rosé and some Strawberries too. Though we'll be eating the strawberries today, because my brother in law, her daddy, has just come down with Covid! So our plans have sadly been postponed.
I've taken pics in different lights, so that the different card elements can be better seen. The two images above show off the lovely colours of the sequins best. I combined some fabulous Gold Platinum and Lilac Platinum flat sequins from This Calls For Confetti with some Trinity Stamps Bubble Bath Baubles for a bit of extra sparkle and shine. The diecut numbers are from my stash, but worked perfectly with my Rose-Gold embossed theme. I was delighted! You may note that perfect wine glass shaped aperture that I've used for the shaker well, is reminiscent of the dress shape from a previous card and that is because, I've used the wonderful hourglass die again, to create this. I did a partial diecut and then trimmed away the excess with a craft knife. I then lined up the wine glass stem stamp, inked it with Versamark ink and heat embossed this and the sentiment in Rose Gold Embossing Ink from Simon Says Stamp. The shaker element layer was mounted onto a slimline card base, also from Simon Says Stamp et voila, fini!
