Whimsy Stamps ~ New Wicked Cute September Release
Hey crafty friends, I'm popping in with my first make with the brand new September Release from Whimsy Stamps and oh my, it's a good one! I'm in Halloween Heaven! So many fun and fabulous elements for Halloween and I had such fun creating this 'too cute to spook' card as my first offering for September.
I wanted to create a 'magical background', so I pulled out my Alcohol Inks and had fun splashing a few colours on the page. I also added some Silver Mixative for a bit of sparkle and interest. I used a mix of Alcohol Ink colours and also brands. I used several Ranger Alcohol Inks and because I don't yet have any of the Alcohol Pearl Inks from Ranger, I used some Brea Reese ones I had in my stash that are Shimmer inks.
I hadn't stuck down the elements in this pic, but it was a nice shot of the shine from the Silver Mixative. Up top it looks gold, but that's just the kitchen lights shining right on the silver. It is quite lovely when it catches the light just right. This cute character and her scared kitty I coloured with Copic Markers. I thought a pink dress and Auburn hair would be quite cute with her marmalade moggie.
I decided to add a bit of interest to the top of the card with the fabulous Bat Reveals Die Set. I cut the long border from the set, but when I went to add the border, decided I would cut one of the four bats you see above in half and add it to the border as if it continued off the page. So I was left with 3 little bats to add around her, which I actually preferred for the finishing scene. I used some great little black foam pads to mount the bats and for the edge of the Bat Reveals border. I used a strip of white foam higher up on the Bat Reveals to add the banner. Then layered the Alcohol Ink Panel over a pretty deep pink textured cardstock and added this to a top folding cardbase I created from an NZ A3 sheet of heavier cardstock. This NZ paper size is large, approximately 16.5 x 11.5 inches, so is great for cutting larger size card bases from. The finished size for this card was about 4.5 x 6.25 inches.
The team has created some absolutely amazing cards with this latest release and if you click through on this taster of their fabulous work above, it will take you through to the latest release in store, where you can see these beauties up close in the store examples. This is just such a fun release and I have to be honest, I want it all, without exception! Every single item in the release I either have ordered, or is on my wishlist! Now I just need some pennies to spend! Hehe. Thank you for popping in to visit today, I hope you've enjoyed this post and I'll be back again very soon with another. I would have posted this yesterday, but it was my daddy's 80th birthday, or should I say, would have been. So I was with my wider family remembering and celebrating him. Never regret growing older friends, it's a privilege denied to many! Love and hugs to you all, Wends xoxo

I receive a small commission, which costs you no extra whatsoever, but helps these companies see where their marketing efforts are most effective and is a way they can say 'thank you' to their affiliates and design team members. I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.
