Whimsy Stamps ~ Welcome To The House of Fun
Hey crafty friends, I ran out of puff last night and couldn't complete this third post, but I'm back with that today which rounds out my three posts in a row! This card was inspired by the fabulous scene on this new set from Whimsy called 'Home Sweet Haunted Home'. This new set has the coolest Halloween sentiments and not your usual suspects either! Something a little different which is really fun. I chose a really cool spooky paper from the Haunted Paper Pack and set the scene in this. Those spooky trees were a perfect backdrop for this fun scene. The perspective suggests they're either massive trees, or the wee house scene is set back in the distance. I imagined the latter and built my scene as if the bats were flying around the house in the distance, but the ghosts have moved forward in the scene and are moving towards oncoming Trick or Treaters.
I stamped the scene across the bottom of the paper, but swiped the inkpad out from the edges as the scene stopped quite abruptly short of the sides. It was very easy to swipe out to the side a few times with the ink pad to extend the 'terrain' a little further. This of course runs right in front of my big trees which are supposed to flank the scene, but moving right along, and continuing with the suspension of disbelief, (hehe, get me with all the fantasy terminology!) I wanted to give the impression the bats were moving further out from the house and there are tiny ones in the stamped scene, so I grabbed some fabulous clay bats from a fabulous This Calls For Confetti mix called 'Not So Spooky Halloween'. These bats are tiny but slightly bigger than those in the image, so worked with my idea that they were circling away from the house towards the onlooker.
I stamped one of the fabulous sentiments from this set and then heat embossed sparkle embossing powder over the black ink to get this shimmery greeting. It doesn't photograph well, but the sparkle shows in the Instagram Reel I did for this card. I added the ghosties, which I cut from vellum and ran through my Xyron Adhesive Machine (I have a small one, but it's fab for adhering vellum) and added them around the sentiment as if they were swirling and flying towards the onlooker. A fun and quite quick scene to bring together, once I'd decided on all the elements.
The rest of our talented Whimsy teams have worked magic with this New Release and here are some examples of their gorgeous creations.
