Whimsy Stamps ~ Sweet Easter Treat Box

Hey crafty friends, I've made a sweet little treat box for one of my nieces for Easter. It's just been her birthday and I couldn't resist creating a little treat box for her and when looking through my stash I found this adorable little Easter bunny. So it became an Easter Treat box! She'll love it I'm sure.

I have to be careful what I put in it, as she has some pretty sever allergies, but happily this past year she's tolerated a bit of chocolate, so I'll be hunting down some cute little chocolate treats to fill it. That sweet bunny is part of the super cute stamp set from Whimsy artist Crissy Armstrong called Easter Bunnies. There are several sweet designs in the set, so I'm off after this, to colour up another to share soon.

I tried a no-lines colouring technique for this sweet image. I stamped the image with a pale Memento ink and coloured it with Copic Markers. I think this wee cutie came out so well in the no lines technique. I'm often intimidated to try larger images, but I thought with a wee bunny this size, I'd give it a go and I love how it turned out. I added details with a Staedtler Fineliner and highlights with a white Gelly Roll pen. I decorated the cute eggs with some hearts and spots and stripes added with metallic and white Gelly Roll pens. I think they came out so cute. If you look closely, you can see I had a wee ink flub on his right cheek (left side of the image), but I just rolled with it and made his jaw a little fluffier there. There is always such an enchanting sweetness to Crissy's images and this cute Easter Bunny set is beyond adorable. I did use the coordinating outline dies to diecut this sweet bunny. I've been really enjoying this option over the past year, as I'm finding more and more my hands fatigue easily with fussy cutting, even with great scissors, so I'm grateful Whimsy has a good selection of matching outline dies for their sets.

I made the Hexagon Box from a Whimsy Stamps fab die set called Hexagon Treat Box. I used Concord and 9th Briar Rose Cardstock to create the box base and topped it with a cute patterned paper from the adorable Easter Paper Set called Eggstra Bunnies. There are lots of super cute designs in this set perfect for Easter makes. I cut the hexagon shape with one of the layers from the Whimsy Nester Hexagon Die Set, which has lovely faux stitched edges. I decorated the box with a trim of pink cotton ribbon to finish the design.

We've had a super cute release on the 5th March at Whimsy and there's another release on the 15th, both are full of such sweet Easter themed goodies, be sure to check the current release out via the banner above. It's not an affiliate linked banner, but it is linked directly to the latest release. Thanks so much for popping in to visit today, I hope you're having a wonderful week. I'm feeling better with each passing day, my back has decided to behave, which is such a relief. I will be back again soon with another crafty adventure. Hugs, Wends xoxo
