Whimsy Stamps ~ A Quick Fun Make with Misfit Quick Card Fronts

Hey crafty friends, I'm back with a quick but fun creation today using the new Quick Card Fronts released by Whimsy Stamps for Halloween this year. This is such a cool but also spooky set, so if you like the creepier imagery, this one's for you! I'm definitely still a too cute to spook girl, so I was drawn to the less creepy images, but there's a good mix of both!

I wanted to add something a little bit interesting but not disrupt the full vision of this beautiful panel, so I decided to do a phantom diecut into the panel with an interesting frame called the Fire and Ice Die Set from Whimsy. It created these cool flame like cuts into the panel, but because I kept the original panel pieces together, it doesn't interrupt the flow of the piece. But from an angle, there is a cool dimension and some shots of gold, because I layered the panel up over a base layer of Tim Holtz Gold Kraft Cardstock. There's a better explanation of this process and a better look at the set and all the elements I've used in this creation, on the video version of this make.

I'm very new to doing these long form videos, so I'd love a little feedback if you do stop by for a visit and thank you in advance for this! The rest of the make is stepped through quite well on the video. If you're a seasoned crafter, you can fast forward through the bits where I explain my adhesive choices etc, but hopefully this information will be helpful for a newer crafter.

Here on the side angle, you can see the wonderful dimension and interest frame. There are little shots of gold that peek through from the card below which is such a fun touch as you move it in the light. It's otherwise a very clean and simple make. I added the sentiment straight to the image panel and gold heat embossed it. Then I matted the panel onto a A7 frame cut from Tim Holtz Black Kraft Cardstock. The finished card is a large US A7 sized card. The phantom diecutting effect is fun, from the front you almost don't see what's happened to the panel, but as you turn it in the light, the dimensions are revealed, hence my description of a phantom diecutting technique. It's not a thing, I just made it up, but I like the way it sounds, especially for a Halloween card! Hehe.

Whimsy has had three amazing releases in August. I've loved them all and it's fair to say my wishlist has exploded. I was fortunate to have a few sets from August sent early for me to work with and I'm super excited to get my next parcel which has some elements from the September releases, because, oh my goodness, if you are a Halloween fan in any shape or form, you're going to love the offerings from Whimsy in September! Things take an age to get to New Zealand and I'm fortunate my bosses are brilliant about that. Thanks for visiting today friends. I love how this relatively quick make came together! I am totally adoring these Quick Card Fronts and can't wait to make my next creation with this set! I'll be back with another crafty adventure very soon. Until then, have a creative and happy week and if you do head over to my video channel, I want to say a huge thank you for taking a peek. Hugs, Wends xoxo

(I share thumbnails to the elements I design with in order to make your search for them easier, in case you like something I've used. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever. It helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
