Whimsy Stamps ~ Spooky Circles
Hey crafty friends, I'm popping in with a fun round card made with a gorgeous word sentiment from Whimsy Stamps. This is my favourite word die for Halloween. I've made several creations featuring this word die over the years. You can see my previous makes here, here, here and here, to see some different ideas with this fun die set.
I ink blended a background and diecut two sentiments from it but in opposite directions, so I had purple on the top of one and orange of the top of the other. Then I layered them one of top of the other for a fun juxtaposition of shadow play. I think it looks so cool.
I used Wilted Violet and Dried Marigold for the ink blend and love the beautiful blend it created as the two mixed in the middle. So pretty! I found an amazing paper from the Bookeh Paper Pack which had these gorgeous hues in it. I couldn't have planned this better. I love how it looks and it really didn't require much more to complete the design. Just a couple of iridescent clear gems to finish the cool spider, some white gel pen details for the bat and some gems top and bottom in reflected symmetry to round out this design.
I used a new to me product from P13 for the card base. They have a range of fun shaped card bases and they're a good size too. The round one I worked with measures about 5.5 inches in diameter. A great size for a round card. I diecut a slightly larger circle to top my design in a lovely shimmery Charcoal Pearl Cardstock which comes from the Sizzix Opulent Cardstock Paper Pack. I distressed the edge of this cardstock and adhered the top layers to the white card base. Apart from the ink blending, this was a relatively quick and easy design and I am so happy with how it came together.
Whimsy has had three amazing releases in August. I can't believe we are about to enter September but I'm also very excited, because we have some amazing releases coming out in September! I'll be back with another crafty adventure very soon. Until then, have a creative and happy week. Hugs, Wends xoxo
(I share thumbnails to the elements I design with in order to make your search for them easier, in case you like something I've used. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever. It helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
