Sweet Stampin' ~ Lili of the Valley Halloween Stamp Set ~ Frankie

Well I seem to have a lot of Frankensteins in my Halloween creating this year and a lot of Black Cats! Hehe. But I've had the best time colouring up these characters. I shared this cutie after I coloured him up, in a video a short while back, but I'd yet to decide how I wanted to add him to a card. I've finally pulled together all the elements to get this cutie front and centre and here he is!

I've made a slimline card with an embossed panel. I used the fabulous Bats Galore Slimline Embossing Folder from Whimsy Stamps to create the background. I ink blended a panel in shades of blue inks from Pinkfresh Studio and then I embossed the panel with the slimline embossing folder. I then took my VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink pad and carefully dragged it across the panel trying to hit only the high points to turn the bats black. There were a few hits in the lower levels but it just added a grungy look, so I went with it. I added a cool border die from Whimsy to the base to give this cutie a foundation to stand on. The Bat Reveals Die Set was perfect for this. I trimmed away the bats that were directly behind him and added one back above him. I added clear shimmer marker to the bats to set them apart from the rest of the background bats.

This cool sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp recent release. I used some glow in the dark foil from Studio Light to matt the sentiment. I mounted this self-adhesive foil onto white cardstock to give it some strength and substance, as the foil is very lightweight. I diecut the sentiment from black cardstock and added that with liquid glue to the matt. A fun surprise when the lights go out, that the background will glow in the dark! I took this pic at an angle to show the embossed dimension and wee flying bat.

I've coloured him with Copic Markers and his skin colour was done with the the YG family of markers. I've used YG99, 97, 95, 93 and a touch of 91. I didn't make a note of the markers I used for his clothes, but they will have been a mix of E colours. I wanted him to look like a little street urchin, so kept those pretty muted and neutral tones.

Thank you for being here today friends, I'll be back again very soon with the other crafty adventure. Do pop by the Sweet Stampin' challenge to check out what my talented teamies got up to for this theme. Their creations are always amazing! Hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo
