Whimsy Stamps ~ This Girl Is On Fire!

Hey crafty friends, I'm back with a fun tongue-in-cheek creation today. I hope those of you who resonate with this get a good giggle from it! I've shared this already as a reel over on my IG page, which if you're able to pop over, will give you better look at the love sparkly elements. They never show well for me in stills, so that's the best place to see those. Watch the reel with the sound on for the best effect!

I started this design by dry embossing the background with Whimsy Stamps Teardrop Splash Stencil. Once the dry embossing was done, I rubbed over the stencil with Lumberjack Plaid Oxide Ink and then added some Carved Pumpkin to make a fiery inferno. Once dry, I splattered the panel with some gold liquid watercolour. The sparkle is captured better in the reel I did, but you can see a peek of it in the image below too.

I used a new to me liquid watercolour for the splatter from Brutus Monroe from their Metallic Aqua Pigment range called Gilded. I splattered it fast and messy to add to the chaotic 'on fire' feel of the card. You may recall I used a smaller version of this range on a previous make, but I didn't like the short brush applicator, it lacked 'oomph' for spreading the colour, so I was glad to upgrade to this larger bottle with the dropper.

I coloured the image with Copic Markers and chose very ruddy skin tones to give that flushed appearance. I went for cool blues for her clothes and a white shirt to contrast with all the wild warm colour around her. I added some sparkle to the headband with a new sparkle pen in blue from Scrapbook.com and used a clear sparkle pen for the sweat bead on her face. This was such a fun card to put together and it did make me giggle. The OMG word die, I used 3 Copic Markers to create the colour gradient, E08, YR04 and Y35. The cardstock was a lighter brighter yellow, so I used the Y35 on the sentiment strip too, to deepen and warm the yellow. I used a fun die to cut the jagged edge on the panel, it's the Whimsy Treasure Map Die Set.

If you missed this change at Whimsy, let me share that they are doing one larger release mid month now on the 15th, with a smaller release earlier in the month. They've just released the cutest Gnome themed Quick Card panels, well worth a look. You can click through to the store on the beautiful examples banner above. My teamies are so talented! These example cards are gorgeous! Thanks for popping in to visit today, I hope you enjoyed this card and poor old frazzled gal. I'll be back soon with another crafty adventure, until then have a beautiful week and I hope it's full of creativity! Hugs, Wends xoxo

(I've added thumbnails to make your shopping easier if you like any of the elements I've created with. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever, though more importantly it helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
