Concord and 9th and Whimsy ~ Thank You Card

Hey crafty pals, I picked up a gorgeous stencil recently from Concord and 9th. I just really loved the way it looked, the style of it and the slightly modern avant-garde twist to the florals. So I really wanted to have a play with this lovely stencil.

I decided to start with a softly coloured cardstock base and then layer up the colour with Distress Oxide Inks through the stencil. I chose a lovely soft minty sage coloured cardstock from the SBC Peppermint Smooth Cardstock A2 Pack. I chose some fun orange and sage green Oxide Inks to lay down the colours. I used Ripe Persimmon for the darkest orange hue and Spiced Marmalade for the lighter orange hue. I used Bundled Sage for most of the green details, touching just a hint of Forest Moss here and there to deepen the green.

I wanted a striking sentiment to finish off this gorgeous but rather plain panel. So I grabbed my Thank You die from Whimsy Stamps out and cut several from a plain cardstock and then a final cut from a lovely copper coloured iridescent cardstock from my stash. I layered them up and added them in the centre of the panel. I diecut the panel first with a very plain stitched edge die as I didn't want to lose too much of the stencilling. Then added the finished panel to an A2 landscape fold card, so this one opens from the right hand side, not my usual preferred top folding card base.

What do you think of this pretty stencil set? I'm thinking of colour combinations for my next try, but this card is set to go to my mummy who is keen for some more of my handmade cards to give to friends. So lovely having her enjoy using them so much! Well that's all from me today my friends. I'll be back soon before long with another crafty adventure, until then, I wish you a wonderful weekend and happy crafty days.

Colour Throwdown Challenge: #781 ~ Peach, Yellow and Green (My card isn't a perfect match, but I think it's pretty close! The yellow shows in the iridescence of the sentiment, hope it's okay to enter xoxo)
