Thank You Ellie

A very simple card I made with my daughter Georgie, using some 'Freebie' papers from a card magazine and an elephant from some foam animal shapes I picked up from 'Lakeland'. The sentiment was cut out of a card magazine from a 'Freebie' page and fixed with small blue brads. A very early and simple card.

Little Umpump

Umpump Card for Konrad's Birthday

This little character I call 'Umpump' because that's how my small ones say Elephant. He was part of a craft magazine 'Freebie' paper kit. He came with all the sections to easily decoupage, so I just went with the flow and added very simple fabric tape from 'Lakeland' to work with the colours in the image. I had a lovely  'bubble' sentiment round in my stash which worked perfectly with the colours in the image. I simply matted  this with a plain white scalloped circle die cut using my 'Sizzix Big Shot' and 'Spellbinders Nestabilities' scalloped circle die. This little guy was destined to be a birthday card for the little boy of one of my lovely friends.

Decoupage Flower

I made this simple card as a thank you card for a dear friend. I struggled to know how to use such a boldly designed paper, so decided to keep it simple and use decoupage to really make the image 'pop off the page' adding just a hint of glitter glue to the centre of the flower for impact. I could have used a sentiment in the lower left or right hand corner, but it was before I had much in my craft stash, so was using what I had to hand. The paper was another 'Freebie' from a card magazine.

Chinese Collar

Japanese Influence Card for Aunty Rae's Birthday

I made this card for the birthday of one of my lovely sisters-in-law back in New Zealand. I had been looking for a way to use the cool Chinese fabric shirt topper that I had bought as part of a set from 'Lakeland'. I found a great paper in a 'Freebie' 6x6 paper pad that was given out with a card magazine purchase, that fitted the theme really well. I don't recall which magazine now, but the paper stack had several bold designs I initially was really stumped to know how to use. So was really pleased with this simple but striking pairing. The Chinese characters are from a wood-mounted stamp set also from 'Lakeland'. The characters represent 'Happiness, Love & Peace'.

Lili Fairy

Little Fairy Decoupage Card

This is an early card using a 'Lili of the Valley' wood-mounted Stamp. This was made for the birthday of a friend's young daughter. It was an early attempt at adding dimension to a card with decoupage. Painstakingly cut out by hand using tiny curved fingernail scissors! I didn't add much in the way of embellishments as I wanted the decoupage to really 'pop' off the page. I used 'Craft Planet' glitter glue on the fairy's wings and as this was made before I discovered 'Pinflair' glue, all the decoupage was fixed in place with 'Sellotape' sticky  foam squares.
