Geisha Girl

Another little 'Georgie & Mama' craft hour. We had great fun playing with shapes and paper-piecing this little Geisha Girl. I used a page that Georgie had previously scribbled all over (because I just can't stand to throw out her creative expressions!) as the card base and added a simple chipboard sentiment to the lower right corner. I added a little gem flower to her hair to finish. It's not evident from this photo, but the paper used to make the hair, had a lovely shimmery sheen to it, so was not a 'flat' black as it looks here. This card was used to write home to New Zealand and show off to the Grandparents Georgie's talents.

Georgie & Mama Craft Hour

Having fun with sketches     Georgie's Version of Mummy's Card
The card on the left was inspired by a collection of cards I saw in a card magazine. The components were hand-drawn in the same vein they were in the magazine and then 'paper-pieced' to create this simple, but sweet card. The centre of the patchwork flower was finished with a pretty glitter brad from my craft stash. The sentiment is a little plastic pre-printed square which came free with a card magazine. (Are you getting the impression yet that I like reading craft mags?!)
The card on the right, was Georgie's take on the brief. Too cute, little 'mini me'! So clever and only 4!!

Georgie's First Floral Card

Georgie's Sunflower Card

Here's a cute little card my Georgie made when she was 4 years old. Just hanging with mama, having some crafty fun! She used a green lolly stick from her own little kids crafty stash and a fabric flower from mamas stash, and finished the centre of the 'sunflower' with a foam circle from her kids stash. She finished the card with a little tissue paper cut in strips and crumpled to create grass. Leaves were drawn by mama.
