Sweet Stampin' ~ Oh Christmas Tree

Get me! Blogging twice in one week!! I'm so happy to be back to my craft room and to my inks and pretty papers, but I am missing my wee doll and I saw her today at a Christmas function with friends. If I weren't too old now to be having kiddos of my own, I'd be well clucky! Little poppet was equally happy to see me which was lovely. But today, I'm here to share my Sweet Stampin' DT card, so to the job at hand...

Our theme this challenge is 'Christmas Trees'. I have a lovely Penny Black Stamp set which I've had a while now and has never before seen ink, so it had a little outing for this project. I actually made 5 Christmas cards using this stamp and the same technique for each card. Green ink for the image and sentiment, which is from the same stamp set. Then a sprinkling of snowy Frantage to complete the look. I had the perfect paper to use for the backing of these two cards, but as I only had a small sheet of it, made only two cards this way and the rest were mounted straight onto craft card. I really love how these first two came out. Still very CAS in design, but the designer paper just added that extra little touch.

The first of these two cards I popped the image up on foam and added a little gold bow to finish. I also edged the image with the same green ink as I used to ink the image and sentiment. The second card, I didn't use the ink around the edges and attached it straight to the card, but this time added a little strip of lovely glittery gold paper below the image. I love both versions and was so pleased with how this little experiment with Frantage went. I don't use it often at all, quite frankly I'm afraid of it! I seem to mess it up every time I try to use it, but this design worked a treat!

I hope you'll come on over and join us for our last Team Abi challenge of the year. We are being sponsored by the fabulous Crafts & Me. I LOVE their gorgeous stamps. We've had such a great year with wonderful challenges and fantastic sponsors. I'm looking forward to more fabulous challenges in 2017. So come and join us again before this year is out. Hugs, Wends xoxo

Fab 'n' Funky ~ Glitter & Sparkle

Hey there my lovely blog pals, it's time for a new challenge at Fab 'n' Funky and I finally am back after my long break. Just in time for us to do our last challenge before the whole team takes a wee break over the Christmas season. Gosh this year has flown by. I can't believe how much we've packed into it! Right, onto the challenge at hand.

I've been caught up in the Christmas rush so chose to make a CAS card for this challenge using a lovely Lili of the Valley precoloured image. I've simply added some glitter to the snow and a simple sentiment from a Lili of the Valley Christmas Sentiment set. I had such fun making this one, I decided to make a whole set! I kept them completely CAS as I wanted to whip up a whole batch in a big hurry. So here's a few I created, all with a CAS similar theme.

I've drawn around the little snowfall spots on both these cards with a glue pen and sprinkled loose glitter over them. There was more glitter on me than the cards by the time I'd finished! This second card, I also added a little strip of gold glitter paper for an extra bit of Christmas glitz. I love how that simple touch elevated the whole feel of the card.

For this card, I used a lovely warm toned kraft card base and added pearl drops to the snowfall and used another lovely LOTV Christmas sentiment to finish the CAS design. Simples!

I made a few more cards using this fab combo of LOTV precoloured image and LOTV sentiment set and pulled together quite a few sweet quick Christmas cards. But I think that's enough pics for now! I was going to add the extras to the bottom of the post, but PicMonkey isn't playing nice right now, so I can't edit any more. But the rest are using images from the same precoloured LOTV image pad and similar layouts and sentiment stamps. So you get the gist.

Come on over and join us for the last Fab 'n' Funky challenge of 2017 with your own Glitter & Sparkle card. I wonder if yours will be a Christmassy one or perhaps something else inspires you right now. We are being sponsored by the lovely Aurora Wings for this challenge. So there's a lovely prize up for grabs. I hope you'll come join in the fun and I'll see you again soon with another Christmas creation. Big hugs and wishes for a happy and healthy lead up to Christmas, Wends xoxo

Sweet Stampin' ~ Let It Snow

Hey there my lovely blog pals. I'm late late late with this post. Forgive me! We had a family wedding up North over the weekend and I knew I had too many balls in the air!! Such a gorgeous weekend and a beautiful wedding ceremony. So nice to be with extended family and people we love but don't see so often. Especially meaningful to see my daddy's siblings now he's no longer with us. I'll share a couple of pics at the end of the post, but for now, I need to show you my card for the Sweet Stampin' challenge that went live on Saturday whilst I was away at the wedding.

Our theme for the challenge this week is 'Let It Snow' and I happened to have this cute card ready to go. I used a sweet stamp from Nellie Snellen's Christmas Time set called 'Parcel Mount' and some fun tartan paper, which I'll have to hunt down the paper pad for as I've already cleared it away and can't remember what it's called! I kept the design simple for haste and added a diecut tree sprinkled in snowy silver and white glitter and a white organza bow with two 'jingle' bells to finish. Very simple design, but that's me at Christmas, no time for the fancy stuff as the day drawers ever near! But I do love this, because I love, love, LOVE tartan paper and this design really showcases it well, leaving lots of 'empty' space. I've used my Promarkers to colour the sweet image and edged the paper and oval image panel with Memento Rich Cocoa brown ink. Simples!

Our sponsor is the wonderful Marianne Design. So come and play along to be in with a chance to win the most fabulous prize. We'd love to see what you create and as it's so close to Christmas now, I'm sure you all must have a few snowy makes to enter our 'Let It Snow' challenge. Hope to see you again soon. Still more busy days in the lead up to Christmas, so no rest yet! Hugs to you all, Wends xoxo

Sweet Stampin' ~ It's Our Birthday!!!

Hey there my lovely blog pals. I have been gone so long I've almost forgotten how to write up a blog post! LOL. I'm sneaking in today, because it's Sweet Stampin's 7th Birthday!! Woop woop!! Can you believe that we've been going 7 years?! I have had the privilege to be on the design team since November 2014 and I've loved every minute of it! We have such a great team here and I didn't want to miss the celebrations!

I've been missing these girlies whilst I've been off playing Mary Poppins to one of my bestie's bubs. I am so looking forward to getting properly back into my craft room! But in the meantime, here's a wee make I made earlier this year, for my daughter's teachers birthday. The kids threw her a surprise party, organising food from home and Georgie gave me a couple of hours to pull this together! All very last minute and exciting and apparently her teacher was utterly chuffed with her lovely surprise. So here's the card I made for her.

I kept it very simple as it was very short notice, so just threw a little masking tape on a page, brushed on some distress ink in various hues (Salty Ocean, Seedless Preserves and Tattered Rose) I splashed it with water and that was that - background done. I used a gorgeous stamp from Unity Stamps because Georgie happened to mention her teacher was dotty for Elephants, so this fit the bill perfectly! All I needed was a 'Surprise' element. I think the sentiment fit the bill perfectly! I can't put my hands on the stamp set I used for the two sentiments inside and out, so will have to update later. Below is a wee peek at the panel I used inside the card. Made the same way as the front, but with wonky masking tape sides! Unintentional, but I quite liked the effect.

Our awesome sponsor for this challenge is the wonderful Crafts & Me. I love their stamps and had I had the time, I so would have coloured up one of their gorgeous images, so go check them out if you've not discovered them before. Be sure you come join in for the chance to win their gorgeous prize!

Well, I've almost completely missed getting this posted in time for our birthday week, I've been caught up all week with gorgeous little people who need undivided love and attention, so this is my 'better late than never' post and I'll get it live now before I've completely missed the boat!

It's my last week as Mary Poppins, so I'll be back early December with my regular DT posts. Thanks to all my amazing DT's who've been incredibly supportive and understanding during my absence. I can't wait to have time just to play in my craft room again. I'm having such withdrawals!! LOL.

If you haven't joined in with my Christmas 'AWOL' candy. Be sure to check out the previous post and join in, there's some sweet goodies to be won. Love and hugs to you all, Wends xoxo

Christmas Candy!!!

Hey there my lovely blog buddies. It seems forever since I posted on my blog and I'm missing you all like crazy! My days are full and I'm knackered, so there's little room for much more crafty fun than the occasional comment. You can consider yourself very special if you've had a comment from me lately! LOL.

I was feeling very sad about Krista's decision to close her digital stamps store a while back and now we have the lovely Sandy who ran my favourite online craft store closing her doors! So, in a bid to celebrate the wonderful talent we enjoy from some awesome artists out there. I decided to put together a little 'Christmas Candy'. I bought these stamps of Krista's designs right after finding out about her shop closure. One for me and one for a random lucky winner. But of course, one is never enough, so there may be some duplicate stamps up for grabs.

I'm going to do this a little differently too. I will show you a pic of the stamps and in the comments below I'd like you to tell me which stamp you'd like to be entered in the draw for. It's sad to win a prize you don't want or already have. So I'm going to put them up as separate items and you can enter one or all of the candies according to what appeals to you or that you don't have already.

The draws will be random, so you will be eligible to win any of the candies you enter. There's no maximum. Good luck to you all! I will draw the winners on the 7th December 2016. I have a couple of extras, so please be sure to enter any you particularly love.

These items are some of my favourite images and I scoured the globe to find them after Krista closed her shop. I found them in Sweden at Moa Pyssel, so the price on the stamp you see is in Swedish Krona. I also found another of my favourite ever butterfly dies from Joy crafts. This is quite tricky to find these days, so I'd really like this to go to someone who'd really love it! So be sure to enter your fav's!

Right, shall we get the ball rolling?

Candy #1
My fav' Christmas stamp of Krista's.

Candy #2
Rapunzel! Love this stamp.

Candy #3
My favourite Butterfly. It matches this edge die

This candy is to say thank you to my lovely followers, since I'm not posting regularly at present. Hopefully 'life as we know it' should return to normal in early December. Followers only please, no candy only blogs. I'd love it if you would pop a pic in your sidebar with a link back to this post to help spread the word too, but that's not a deal breaker. In the meantime, thanks for remembering me and good luck with the candy draw!

Hugs to you all, Wends xoxo

Okay, no chicken dinner, but 3 lucky winners!!!
I have some duplicates too, so I'll be back tomorrow with some additional winners
But for now, drum roll please
The Winner of the Candy Canes Stamp is Sarah Wills
The Winner of the Rapunzel Stamp is Sammy Jean
The Winner of the Joy Crafts Butterfly Die is Wendy Fields

Congratulations my lovely pals. I'm so excited for you!!!
Please send me your address details and I'll post your wins to you.
You can send me a PM on Facebook to keep your address private.

For those who didn't win this time around, please check back tomorrow,

Fab 'n' Funky ~ Fabulous Flowers

Hey there my lovely blog buddies, I know, I know, long time no post! It's a long story and I've been uber busy, but all is well, just helping out a friend and will be back to the usual broadcast in early December. But for now, I'm just sneaking in to host my challenge on the Fab 'n' Funky blog. I've been seriously short of creative time these past few weeks, so it's just as well a sweet pal asked me recently to create a birthday card for her mummy. It fits the bill perfectly! I chose the theme 'Fabulous Flowers' for my challenge and I'm really hoping people will add more than just floral paper to their creations. I would love to see some paper or fabric flowers on entries for this challenge.

I was in a rush to get this card to my pal for her mummy's 70th as I had a mad week that week, so in my haste, I forgot to take pics! Thankfully, my pal had time to take some for me before giving it to her mummy at her gorgeous high tea party. I worked this into the theme of the card, by adding a little Whimsy Teapot and a few teacups cut from the pretty floral paper. My pal also told me they were giving her mama a beautiful Parisian themed book and if I could work that into the card too, she'd be thrilled. So I went for a pretty shabby chic style, with flowers and ribbon and pretty papers, which fit the Parisian theme beautifully! The papers are Craftwork Cards - Postcard From Paris

I used another page from the same paper set to create the little postcards. I've inked everything with Distress Ink in Tea Dye, including the pink paper flowers as they were a little bright when I first put them on, so the Tea Dye just softened their colour a bit. I think it looks fab. I cut the mat for the sentiment from a copper card stock and used the same cardstock to cut the '70' which was the final request from my pal for her mama's card. I think I met the brief pretty well. The numbers are from an older Quickutz set for the hand tool.

The sentiment is of course a Lili of the Valley large sentiment from Set 61 - Quotables - Celebrate. I really like these big sentiment sets, there's a great variety for a number of different occasions and even better they've just brought them out as digi sets! So there's lots of room for creativity with that option. I used the clear stamp for this card and Memento ink in Rich Cocoa.

I also decorated the inside of the card with the same paper as the front and inked the edge of the circle with Tea Dye again. I used a Kaisercraft Postmark Stamp to add a little interest to the bottom of the writing panel. I used a lighter Memento ink for this, called Desert Sand. The pretty card shape I cut with my favourite Go Kreate Frilly #10 die. I love this card shape and I think it's perfect when wanting to create a slightly more 'special' finish to a card.

We're being sponsored by my favourite craft store ~ Live & Love Crafts for this challenge. I'm crying in my coffee right now as the lovely Sandy has decided to close up shop. So this is one of your last opportunities to get some of her gorgeous crafty goodies! So grab all your lush blooms and gorgeous shabby chic goodies and join us for some floral fun. You can use floral paper but it's those paper & fabric blooms I'd really like to see on your cards.

I will be super busy from now until the beginning of December. So next time I share, it's very likely to be a Christmas card!! Can you believe there's only 66 days until Christmas?! That's 9 1/2 weeks! Eeek!! I've a lot of shopping to do!!! Hugs to you all until I can get back here again, Wends xoxo

Sweet Stampin' ~ Cute & Cuddly

Hey there my lovely blog buddies. It's been a silly week, as I mentioned on my last post. So I'm flying in quickly with my DT make for Sweet Stampin' tonight. As you know, you must 'stamp' to enter our challenges, so I do love to use my rubber stamps whenever possible for my DT makes and I picked up this cute Stamping Bella chick recently with this fabulous sentiment too and just knew I had to use it for my best bud in Sweden.

(sorry about the wonky angle - held up to the Sun to catch the daisy sparkle)
I sent my Swedish pal this card recently with all the family news in it. Needless to say, I had to add several additional pages! I do love snail mail, it's still my favourite way to communicate with my pals abroad. There's just something special about an actual letter you can hold and even nicer with a sweet handmade card! I just think this wee chick is super cute and with that sentiment, it quite stole my heart!

I kept the design very CAS and used some digital paper from Pixel Scrapper as the background. It's from the Strawberry Fields set by Janet Scott. I've coloured the image with my Promarkers and added a touch of Wink of Stella to the centre of the daisy. A few distressed edges, a simple yellow bakers twine wrap to finish et voila.

Come on over to Sweet Stampin' to join in our 'Cute & Cuddly' challenge. I'd love to see what you create. I'll be back again when time allows. Things are about to get a whole lot crazier at mine for a little bit, so I'm not sure how often I'll be able to check in over the next few weeks. But fingers crossed I won't be too knackered in the evenings to check in with you all. Thanks for all the lovely messages you leave me, I don't say it very often, but they always TOTALLY make my day. Big hugs to you all, Wends xoxo

Hey there my lovely blog buddies. I have had a full on week and I'm knackered! I almost forgot that I needed to whip up a wee make for my Fab 'n' Funky DT spot today. But then I remembered about a sweet card I made a pal a while back and was yet to blog, which lucky for me, fits the theme perfectly!! Southern Girls ~ Anything Goes

Hey my lovely blog pals, I'm stopping in today with a DT post for the Southern Girls Challenge. We have a new challenge starting today and it's an 'Anything Goes' challenge hosted by the Team Lou lovelies. That's right, another 'Anything Goes' so there's no excuse not to play along! We are being sponsored by Rick St Dennis, and I've used a sweet stamp generously provided by our sponsor for my DT creation. A real cutie called Summer Wind. For those of you who enjoy the delicious darker images, Rick has plenty for you to enjoy. I'm not keen on the 'sleuky' images (my kiddos word for spooky/scary) so I chose a sweet image from his Zibbet store. Rick has two stores, an Etsy store and his Zibbet store, the Etsy store has more of the 'dark side' images. Fabulous, especially with Halloween now just around the corner, but sleuky!

I found some gorgeous brightly coloured paper, which I thought would be lovely with the florals in this sweet image. I cropped the image to fit a circle frame and coloured it with my Promarkers. The gorgeous heart circle frame is from the Sue Wilson range by Creative Expressions called Italian Decorative Frame.

The above photo was taken in the shade, so shows the colours of the image well, but the paper looks a little darker than it actually is. I took the following shot in full Sun out on the driveway. The image looks a little bleached out, but the rich colours of the paper came up well here. Did you spot the wee birdies I inked in the bottom left corner to just add a sneaky detail and bit of interest?

A little collage follows of some of the features. The sentiment, diecut Sun, the birds and the posy of flowers. I added Wink of Stella to the flowers, but it hasn't shown up well in any pic I took, so you just have to imagine the gentle sparkle when it catches the light.

I hope you'll come and play along with us for our 'Anything Goes' challenge. We'd love to see what you come up with. My teamies have been hard at work on their gorgeous DT creations to inspire you, so do stop by the blog to check those out.

I'll be back again soon with another crafty adventure, in the meantime, have an awesome week. I hope yours holds some fun crafty adventures too. Big hugs, Wends xoxo

Always so quick and easy and I think the plain 6x6 square base has such a nice balance and is a good size when creating a card.

Sweet Stampin' ~ No DSP

Hey there my lovely blog pals, my laptop is misbehaving today, I've had to copy and paste the 'e' into every spot you read it here on my blog today, as 3 keys on my laptop have suddenly stopped working!! (So forgive me if I miss a couple.) It's Saturday, so it's time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin' and our theme this week is 'No Designer Series Paper'. We are sponsored by the lovely folks at Freckled Fawn this challenge, so our winner is in for a lovely treat!

I made a thank you card for 'new' friends who had us over for dinner on the weekend. Man oh man, I have never had such good Brisket, ever! It was a fab night, the food was delicious, I got to try out a new recipe, (would you believe I'd never before made a potato salad?!) the wine flowed, the conversation flowed and we all had a fabulous night. So a thank you card was most definitely in order. Our friends own an art gallery, so I thought it was fitting to do a little 'arty' piece myself for their thank you card. I love how it turned out and kept the card style very CAS to allow the ink work and stamping to feature.

The sentiment I've used is from an Inkylicious set called Journey. I made a second card on the same day with an Inkylicious Thank You sentiment, which I had originally thought I'd give these friends, but when I finished this card, it was far more 'arty' looking, which I thought would appeal to them more.

I used a couple of different ink pads to create the colours for this background. The main background was created with Distress Inks in Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers and Squeezed Lemonade. I then added a grass line using Bundled Sage. I added some water splashes to create texture. Then I used a Tsukineko Kaleidacolor inkpad in Creole Spice to ink the grasses. I used the first two colours on the pad only, turning the stamp to ink it. So the colours shifted between the warm gold and copper colour, giving a nice variation in the grasses. I let the little dragonfly reach onto the green portion of the ink pad to set him apart a bit. Then randomly stamped the little dandelion clocks in darkening shades above the grasses. The sweet little dandelion grasses stamp was from a Practical Publishing magazine cover gift, which had a fairy template and a mix of fairy and foliage stamps. I can't recall which magazine it was, so if anyone knows, please do tell me! The taller grasses on the side are a Joy crafts stamp called Silhouette Grasses.

Thanks for popping in today. Do head over to the Sweet Stampin' challenge to see what my talented teamies have been up to. We've had two Sweet Stampin' birthdays this past week, so if you're stopping into their blogs, be sure to wish Cass and Abi a happy birthday! See you again really soon with my next crafty adventure. Big hugs, Wends xoxo
