Sweet Stampin' ~ Oh Christmas Tree

Get me! Blogging twice in one week!! I'm so happy to be back to my craft room and to my inks and pretty papers, but I am missing my wee doll and I saw her today at a Christmas function with friends. If I weren't too old now to be having kiddos of my own, I'd be well clucky! Little poppet was equally happy to see me which was lovely. But today, I'm here to share my Sweet Stampin' DT card, so to the job at hand...

Our theme this challenge is 'Christmas Trees'. I have a lovely Penny Black Stamp set which I've had a while now and has never before seen ink, so it had a little outing for this project. It was a cover gift with the Papercraft Essentials Magazine in Issue #113 from September 2014 I believe. The tree from this set is also available separately as a stamp called 'A Splash of Winter' by Penny Black. The cover gift version is called Wonder Collection. I actually made 5 Christmas cards using this stamp and the same technique for each card. I used green Memento Northern Pine ink for the image and sentiment, which is from the same stamp set, then added a sprinkling of snowy Frantage to complete the look. I had the perfect paper to use for the backing of these two cards, but as I only had a small sheet of it, made only two cards this way and the rest were mounted straight onto craft card. I really love how these first two came out. Still very CAS in design, but the designer paper just added that extra little touch.

The first of these two cards I popped the image up on foam and added a little gold bow to finish. I also edged the image with the same green ink as I used to ink the image and sentiment. The second card, I didn't use the ink around the edges and attached it straight to the card, but this time added a little strip of lovely glittery gold paper below the image. I love both versions and was so pleased with how this little experiment with Frantage went. I don't use it often at all, quite frankly I'm afraid of it! I seem to mess it up every time I try to use it, but this design worked a treat!

I hope you'll come on over and join us for our last Team Abi challenge of the year. We are being sponsored by the fabulous Crafts & Me. I LOVE their gorgeous stamps. We've had such a great year with wonderful challenges and fantastic sponsors. I'm looking forward to more fabulous challenges in 2017. So come and join us again before this year is out. Hugs, Wends xoxo

A really classy card Wendy and that backing paper is truly gorgeous. I am going to check out your favourite Christmas songs, and thank you so much for sharing with us at AYLI xx
A stunning card Wends - love them both, although the one with the gold stripe is more appealing to me. The frantage looks amazing on them both

Beautiful cards Wends! Love the stamp, the frantage 'snow' looks amazing, fab DP too! Isn't it great how different a card can look, using the same stamps and papers just by altering the design slightly!
I received a beautiful card and a fabulous stamp yesterday! Thank you so much Wends, I'm so looking forward to colouring up that lovely stamp!

Helloooooo hun! I'm as pleased to see you back crafting as you are to be doing it because I have missed your gorgeous inspirational creations :-)
I've been a bit erratic with my commenting over the last few months anyway and can see I've missed a few blog posts from you...not least those amazing pics of your family gathering; what a beautiful place and I hope you had a wonderful time.
I loved your previous post with the set of LOTV art pad cards; they were all so fab and you dressed each image up perfectly with a few details to create cute CAS designs.
And now we have these stunning tree cards...wow! The frantage looks soooo good and you were so right that the paper complements the image beautifully; I love them :-)
Only 5 sleeps to go until the big day...are you all ready?! I'm feeling very calm about it all, which is unusual for me and may precede a catastrophic meltdown when I remember all the things I need to do - lol!
Big hugs, Kat xx
