Birthday Girl
Just a very quick post tonight, to share a sweet birthday card I made for one of my lovely friends little girls. She's turning 4 and I can't quite work out where the past few years have gone! She's a real little poppet this one, her face is so pretty! When I saw this digi a few months back from Saturated Canary, I knew I wanted to use if for her birthday card, I just wasn't sure I wanted to go down the 'clown' road. So I cropped off the clown shoes and coloured her up in rainbow colours with my trusty Promarkers and Flexmarkers.
The balloons have been finished in a mixture of glossy accents and stickles glitter glue, to just give them a little lift. I used a touch of glossy accent on her eyes too. I popped a tag behind the image, which has been stamped with the lovely 'birthday recipe' stamp from Lili of the Valley and finished with an organza ribbon in a rich purple which picks up the purple in the balloons. For some reason it's not showing so deeply purple in the photo, in reality, it's quite a good match.
I've used a pretty fabric square as the background, which I bought at a local craft shop and was already trimmed with the pinking sheers edge. I cut the image using my 'Spellbinders Nestabilities' circle die and the 'out of the box' technique and matted it with a scalloped circle which I cut back a bit at the top so it didn't fight with the balloons. Green coloured flat back pearls to finish and hey presto, done! A very simple card really, but I really love it and I know the little poppet it was made for is very likely to too!
I am entering this card into the 'I Love Promarkers' challenge #150 - 'Tag It'. I didn't take a photo of the tag itself, which I'll try to remedy tomorrow, but I'm burning the midnight oil right now, so off to bed with me! Thanks for stopping by, I love it when you visit, mwah, Wends x
