Blue Girl

What a week! It's my 'big' little brothers wedding this weekend, so I've been racing around like a flee in a fit trying to get things organized, having realized the 'airmail' box I thought had my wedding outfit in it from the UK, was sent without it! Heavens only knows what happened there. Thank goodness the kids wedding outfits arrived safe and sound! I'm singing at the wedding too, so most nights once the kiddos have gone to bed are spent trying to exercise the rusty old pipes! This house is a little bigger than our London flat thank goodness, or I'd not get away with that! LOL.

I need a little break from it though, so I'm back with another card tonight. I found this sweet little image on an Etsy site called MilkCoffee and just loved it. I coloured the image first, as is often my way, just random colouring, in random colour combinations, it's just how I roll, LOL. But then I found this gorgeous paper and knew that would be a great little pairing. If I recall correctly, this is a Memory Box paper, but I can't refer to my stash as it's still on the slow boat from England! I distressed the edges using my Paper Distresser by Tim Holtz for Tonic Studios. I'm not so practiced in the art of distressing yet, (although my hubby might beg to differ - but that's a different kind of distressing! Hehe).

I used a Spellbinders Nestabilities die called Lacey Ovals for the mat on the image and a couple of lovely Memory Box dies which I inked the edges of to soften them. You can find Honeyblossom Sprig and Fancy Blossoms at Dies to Die for. The ribbons are from stash and just a happy coincidental match! The image was of course coloured with my favourite inks - Promarkers and then finished with a hint of Stickles glitter glue on the headband and shoe rosette. The actual shoe I added a touch of Glossy Accents to which gives them a shiny finish but sadly doesn't show up in the pic, though looks quite sweet in reality. Finally a large flatback pearl to the Fancy Blossom stack in the bottom right corner and three smaller flatback pearls in the top right corner all from MeiFlower are my finishing touches to the card.

Sweet and simple wee card, but I'm so happy with how all the elements came together. Thanks for popping in to see me today. I love our little chats! ;) You're welcome back anytime. I'll be back in a few days, when all the wedding fever has settled. I may even manage a pic of my kiddos in their little flower girl and page boy outfits! Big Hugs, Wends xxx

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

'Dies to Die for' - Spring
