Dream Valley Summer

Woops, I'm late, I'm late for a very important date...

It's time for a new Dream Valley challenge and I am a little late with my post, sorry. It's Winter Break here in New Zealand and I have my hands full entertaining the bairns over the holidays. Not helped one little bit by the fact that the road to our holiday destination has been flooded so badly half the road has actually eroded away! So we have had a few days away with family at a gorgeous lake in the middle of the North Island of New Zealand called Lake Taupo and will spend the rest of our holiday having Auckland city fun. We'll have to wait to have our beach fun up North when the road is fixed. They estimate 2 months!

But onto craftier matters, our theme at Dream Valley for our new challenge is Summer and the crew have been busy making all sorts of gorgeous Summery makes. Here is a sweet mini milk carton box I made for my niece, with a fabulous Saturated Canary image by Krista Smith on it called Violet Vintage. I can't claim any brilliance over this make whatsoever, as it has been utterly inspired by the very talented Penni of Lazy Cats Cards. Penni is on the Saturated Canary YouTube team and her tutorials are fabulous. You can see this tutorial via the link I've left on her blog name. The paper template for the little milk carton box makes it all SO easy. Doesn't it have the 'WOW' factor? I love it.

I've been wanting to ink up my Violet Vintage stamp for ages, but needed the right creation to put her on, and this was so perfect for a Summery make. I hope you like it and will have a go at making one of these gorgeous mini milk cartons. Such a sweet box for a 'little gift'. The pretty papers I've used are MME and this sentiment is one of my favourites from the Whimsy Stamps Graduations Sentiments pack.

As You Like It Challenge: Animals or People? I'm a 'People' person, always have been and when it comes to stamps, I like them to have 'faces' and in my opinion, the Saturated Canary images are hard to beat. There are others I love too, but these are definitely amongst my top 5 favourite stamp artists.
