Fab 'n' Funky - Masculine

Hi folks, here it is hump day, which means it's the middle of the week and we're on the way to the weekend - woohoo! But it also means, it's time for a new challenge at Fab 'n' Funky, even bigger woohoo!! Our lovely Chris is hosting the challenge this week and she's chosen a fab theme for us this time. She'd like to see all your 'Masculine' makes. Now don't moan, we all have fella's in our lives. I have a little fella, who is very soon going to be turning 5. So when this challenge came up, I spotted a gorgeous SVG cut from our fabulous sponsors 'The Doodle Pantry' and just knew that was what I wanted to work with for this challenge.

How dang cute are those dungarees?! You know they made me think of Zac's lil' Minions straight away, so I had to add a couple of them in for the photo shoot.

I kept the design very simple, I just stuck the PDF template onto orange card and cut around it, so that the orange would show through as the background colour. I don't own a fancy diecutter, so it was hand cutting for me, but happily the SVG set came with a PDF version for handcutting. I used two sparkly orange brads to fix the dungaree straps in place. Then I stuck on the pocket taking care to only glue the lower three edges, so I could tuck a little 'Happy Birthday' tag in there. I had the little tag already made up from a previous creation, so I just used my bright orange Promarker over the Kraft paper to give it the right shade for this creation. I also used my Storm Blue Flexmarker to ink the string, as I wanted it blue for this make. I then added a little metal wrench just to complete the look.

The top sentiment is from a Little Darlings Friendship sentiment stamp set and the bottom sentiment is from Lili of the Valley. I had to stamp the LOTV one in two passes as it was on one line initially, but I wanted the words on separate lines. Not a perfect job, this really shows how fab clear stamps are when doing things like this! I don't see the LOTV stamp on their site any more, so I think they've retired it.

I'll be tucking this little Treat Box away in the cupboard now until Zac's 5th birthday. (Though I'll give the wee man his Easter eggs back!) I'll be filling this with some birthday treats for my lil' guy. His birthday is coming up faster than I'd like!! He's so sweet right now, I just want to bottle him!! He'll be my big school boy in only a few weeks, suffice to say there'll be tears in my coffee on his first day!

Thanks for popping in today. I'll be back again soon with another crafty adventure, but in the meantime, stop on over at the Fab 'n' Funky blog and get your fill of inspiration from my fabby DT pals. Come join our fun 'Masculine' challenge too. It's a great reason to get on with your crafty makes for the boys in your life.

Hugs, Wends x
