Sugar Nellie Lovely
I am popping in today to share a card I made for one of my DT sisters across the globe. It's her birthday today and I have it on pretty good authority she likes a little bit of Sugar, so I've inked up one of my Sugar Nellie stamps in her honour and it will be winging its way across the globe very soon. I'm late posting, but frankly it's a miracle anything gets done in my craft room lately, so I count it a win that I actually got it made! Happy Birthday Susan, I hope you have a smashing day and this will be with you ASAP!
Here's the gorgeous stamp I've used. It's a retired Sugar Nellie image called Charlotte. I just love this cutie and I think Susan will too. I've gone for red and blue as I also happen to know that Susan isn't a P*#k fan, sorry can't type the word, it's considered a dirty word to my pal! LOL.
I used a sweet banner sentiment from a My Mind's Eye chalkboard set my sis gave me for my last birthday. It just worked really well in this planer layout. The fab DP is from a Persnickety Prints set called Birds of a Feather. It reminds me a lot of Orla Kiely designs which I just love, so I thought it would be fun to use it with this sassy gal image. I've coloured the image with my Promarkers and I'm a little sad her rosy cheeks don't show so well in the pics. My light balance isn't quite right.
I've added some red stickles to the shoes, because I just love to do that. Who doesn't want a pair of ruby slippers right? I added a touch to her hairclip too. I had 'hot pink' felt flowers in my kit from a recent magazine cover gift, so I inked them with a little red chalk ink and layered them up with a pink button I also inked red. I used my duck egg Promarker to colour the cream thread blue too.
