Loves Rubberstamps - Sensational Sunday Bloghop

I am knackered! This week has been a whirlwind, exhausting, elating and has whizzed by at breakneck speed. Both my kiddies have been recovering from nasty bugs, so have been playing tag as to who stayed home from school these past two weeks. On a happier note, one of my darling pals has just had a baby girl and I have been totally absorbed in this journey and this sweet soul. Ah the miracle of new life. The elating, all consuming, exhausting early days of new life! Love it!!

Now it's time for another Loves Rubberstamps weekly Sensational Sunday Blog Hop! The Design Team has been busy creating some gorgeous projects for your Inspiration. Click on each link in the Hop and leave a comment to be in with a chance of winning the mystery prize. If you get lost along the way, each stop will have a full list of links. One of the Design Team posts is the hop's Sensational Sunday Sweet Spot and a name will be drawn from that list of comments to be in a monthly draw for a $20 Loves Rubberstamps Gift Voucher! We will draw the winner of the Voucher the 1st Sunday of each month from all the comments left on the design team blogs! Remember, you have until 8:00 pm CST Saturday to leave your comments! So come hop along with us and be inspired to create.

This week I've used a fun stamp from the 'Some Odd Girl' photopolymer range called On Safari. I gave this to my pal while she was waiting for bubba to arrive. I had a feeling it was going to be a little girl, so I was keeping my girlie newborn card for the birth. But loved this set and wanted her to have this one too, so gave this as a 'waiting for baby' card. I fussy cut the image and mounted it with dimensional foam pads to make it 'pop off the page'. This gorgeous stamp set comes with some awesome sentiments of it's own, but I chose to use a lovely sentiment from a Whiff of Joy set called Baby Sentiments which fit the theme of my card far better.

I initially stamped the sentiment straight onto the gorgeous Pixel Scrapper paper by designer Sharon Dewi Stolp, but it just didn't stand out enough, so I cut a cute fishtail flag from one of my smaller MFT fishtail stax dies and then trimmed the end to the size I wanted and added the sentiment. It looked much better once I did this. Here's a look at what it was like beforehand.

Card Recipe:
Edge Ink: Tea Dye Distress Ink
Colouring Medium: Alcohol Markers
Fussy Cutting: Curved Nail Scissors
Image: On Safari from Some Odd Girl
Sentiment: Baby Sentiments by Whiff of Joy
Image & Sentiment Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento Ink

Congratulations to your friend, Wends, both for the new baby girl and for your wonderful friendship! This "waiting for baby" card is so adorable! Thank you for showing the "miss," so we can see the difference your design change made. Smart move! The sediment not only looks better on the sweet fishtail flag, but it elevated the whole card by grounding the effalump panel. Oh, get me, like I'm some kind of expert. It's just fancy words for saying my eyeballs like it better!! Thank you for your recent visit! It's good to see you again!! Enjoy your day and I hope the younguns stay healthy now! Hugs, Darnell
