Fab 'n' Funky ~ Christmas

A very warm hello to all my buddies out there in blogland tonight. I have a sweet creation to share with you today. We are kicking off a new challenge at Fab 'n' Funky and it's our mission this year, to encourage you all to get your Christmas crafting started in plenty of time. So we are having a Christmas challenge once a month, to help with that. I am delighted, because this last minute lass, would leave it all until Christmas eve otherwise! Our challenge is being hosted this week by our lovely Ginny.

We are being sponsored by the wonderful Bugaboo Stamps for this challenge and they've given the DT some super cute and fun stamps to play with for our DT creations. I chose a gorgeous wee Snowman, which I've coloured up in pink, so really, she's a Snowlady!

This sweet stamp is called 'Snow Friends' and I've coloured the image with my Promarkers. Don't you just love that sweet little Robin? I think they are a super cute pair. I've added lots of extra little touches to this cute image. I've used Liquid Pearl in White Opal for the wee snowflake drops around the snowlady. I've used Crystal Snow from Stampendous on her hat for the fluffy bits. It doesn't show well in the pics, but looks fab IRL. I used chunky Icicle Stickles Glitter Glue for the snow drift at the bottom of the pic. The chunky nature of this Stickles Glue gives it a nice texture and added dimension. But it does take a wee bit longer to dry!

I decided I wanted to do something different for this challenge, so rather than make a card, I decided to create a little gift bag. I started with a template that I cut from an A4 page. I used a lovely pink knit paper from an old Joanna Sheen paper set called Haberdashery.

I added a doily to the front of the gift bag and then hand cut a circle to fit on the doily from a pretty pink doily paper which came from the same BoBunny paper set I used recently for my niece's birthday card. A pretty paper set called Isabella. I inked the edge of the doily paper with White Ingvild Bolme Chalk Ink and stuck both layers to the gift bag. I also inked the edges of the gift bag with the white chalk ink before sticking any layers to it.

Next I stuck down the image (which was a bit of a trick, because the Icicle Stickles was still not dry), but thanks to my Pinflair glue, it all stuck down very nicely. I inked the edge of the image before sticking it down with Ingvild Bolme Chalk Ink in Old Rose.

Once all my layers were stuck down, I pulled the handles together. I had half scored right down the middle of the side panels on the bag, so I pinched the top edges of the bag together, creasing at these side scores and then added the bakers twine ribbon to the top of the handles to give that extra little finishing touch to the bag. A pretty quick make actually and I think very sweet all finished up.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my creation and the process I went through to create it. I look forward to seeing what you come up with for our Christmas challenge. There's no set theme, other than Christmas, so you've lots of scope to create! Thanks for popping in to visit today. I will be back again soon with another crafty adventure, but in the meantime, go check out what my talented teamies have been up to on the Fab 'n' Funky Challenge blog. Have an awesome week and happy crafting!

Hugs, Wends x

Simon Says Monday Challenge: Inspired By A Song (Frosty the Snowman is the obvious choice with this wee image, but it's 'River' I was singing while crafting this. I always start with this song when I'm Christmas crafting. Joni is awesome, but I love Robert Downey Jr's version too and actually I love the version Sarah McLachlan did too on her Wintersong album)
