Sweet Stampin' ~ Mother's Day

Hey pals, how are you all doing this fine Saturday? I am full of smiles and joy because today is my baby girls 11th birthday! So we have plans for happy adventures today, which include her first experience of a little 'professional' pampering at a salon. She broke her arm just over a week ago, so it's put a stop to our plans of a horse riding adventure for her birthday. So instead, I thought my girlie would enjoy some pampering and TLC. So she's going to have a mini (kiddies) facial and a mini pedicure and toenail paint. Eeep, I'm so excited to do this with her. While I'm off celebrating my wee doll, our next challenge at Sweet Stampin' is kicking off and in this I get to celebrate another amazing female in my life. My beautiful mummy. Our challenge this week, is 'Mother's Day'. So we want to see all your gorgeous creations in preparation for Mother's Day. We are being sponsored by the wonder team at Crafts U Love too. So that's a fabulous treat in store for the winner!

I have used a fabulous Saturated Canary image for my Mother's Day card, which I coloured with my Promarkers and created the card front for. Then my kiddos wanted to get involved too and make their own images for Nanny. So Georgie coloured up her image, another Saturated Canary image which looks a bit like her and Zac did his to look like him. I think they're a really cute trio! The three stamps actually all came from Complete Cardmaking Magazine ~ Issue 47. They are called My Valentine, Love My Boy and Pocket Valentine. I think they work so perfectly together for this creation and I was chuffed to be able use a lovely set of papers which was also a magazine cover gift. This paper set came with issue 126 of Papercraft Inspirations and was called Lily Rose. Each page is so pretty and works together really well, so it was lovely to use them this way.

I very simply added some ruffled ribbon, lace, a sweet gingham bow and a wee tag which I hand printed 'for mummy' on in pink ink. My mama is a huge fan of purple, so I used lots of purple in this card. The tiny pearls are a lovely dark rich purple and finished the corners really nicely.

My sweet kiddos coloured up their images so well. Georgie used Promarkers to do hers! Zac used pencils. We kept the gingham ribbon theme going through the card, a yellow one on Zac's page ("because I have yellow hair mum you know?" He's too cute, I just wanna stop time!) and a pale pink one on Georgie's page. Also using pages from the same lovely paper set on these pages too.

I decorated the back of the card with a lovely 'Souza' quote which comes from Stampart Design by Kathryne, back when she had a digital stamp album in the Whimsy Stamps Store. I cut it using a Go Create shaped frame. This one is so pretty. I love the shape. I inked all the edges of the papers with distress ink, I think I used Vintage Photo.

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I did for Mother's Day, now we'd love to see what you'll do. I hope you'll come and join in the fun with us. But right now, Georgie and I have a date for some TLC, so I'll catch ya later. Hugs, Wends x
