Sweet Stampin' ~ May Flowers

Hey there my lovely blog buddies, hope you've had a good week. Mine has flown past and that means it's time again for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin'. We've a lovely theme for you this week which is (May) Flowers. We'd love to see anything with a flower on it, paper, image, embellie. As long as there's stamping and a flower of some description on your creation then you're in with a grin!

I've coloured this lovely image called Fairy Summer from The Greeting Farm with Distress Inks. I wanted to create a soft wash around her, so went for my distress inks rather than my Promarkers. I'm happy with the effect but I do need to do lots more practice with my Distress Inks and Markers. Oh to have more hours in the day!

I used a lovely striped paper from an MME paper pad which had a yummy honey coloured hue in it that worked well with my fairy's hair. The butterflies were on my craft desk, 'off cuts' from the cards I sent out with the winners parcels from my last candy. Speaking of candy, I just had a delivery of some fabulous stamps that I imported from Sweden ready for my next candy, I've been hunting the globe for these, so I was super excited to find them. It's going to be a good candy, so watch this space!

I've added some Wink of Stella to the darker shading on the fairy's wings, to the sentiment and the centre of the flower. I've also added it to the wings of the butterflies and created little trails behind them. Which of course hubby made rude remarks about. But I like them! The lovely sentiment is from a Lili of the Valley set called Fairy Sentiments. The button and flower are from the MFT Dienamics Blueprints 14 set. The wee tags are cut with a La-La Land Stitched Elements Die set.
