Southern Girls ~ Anything Goes!

Heya, I'm back with a new creation for the Southern Girls Challenge. Lia Stampz is our fabulous sponsor this week and I've created a pretty floral card using three of the Poppy images from their Flowers Set merged together. I really LOVE how this card came out. I'm super duper pleased with it. 

I've coloured the poppies with my Copic Markers and the background too. I used warm greys to create the soft wash around the poppies. I kept the card design very simple as I really didn't want to take any focus away from the flowers. So a CAS design with a bit of sparkle and shine was the right fit for the look I wanted. 

I used a lovely sentiment diecut that I picked up at one of our local crafty stores here in New Zealand. This one really appealed to me and I just love the finish it gives this card. I've added a touch of Wink of Stella to the plain black cardstock for a bit of extra sparkle and shine. I chose a checkerboard paper to finish this card, I didn't want anything to busy, but wanted a bit of extra interest down the side. I often go for stripes with my floral cards but really loved the way the checkerboard looked when I was laying the papers out to choose.

I also added Wink of Stella to the centre of the poppies as well, just for a bit of extra interest. The sparkle and shine looks so nice in reality, especially with the bling from the gold glitter card. I'm needing to head to bed, so I'll catch you on the flip side.
