Whimsy Stamps ~ World Cardmaking Day Blog & Instagram Hops

Hello, hello, I'm back again already, with an exciting post, as it's World Cardmaking Day today and we are celebrating this at Whimsy Stamps with not one but two hops! The first is a Blog Hop and half the team is contributing to this, while the other half of the team is doing an Instagram Hop. I'm sharing here on my blog, so that you can find your way to our Instagram Hop, which is what I'm joining in with.

In honor of World Cardmaking Day, @whimsystamps is having a spooky Instagram Hop with a $25 prize! To be eligible to win, all you have to do is:

1. Like the Instagram post.⠀
2. Follow @whimsystamps.⠀
3. Follow each designer on the hop.⠀
4. Leave a comment, tagging friends in separate comments.

My spooky creation has been made with a whole host of gorgeous Whimsy Stamps goodies. I used the too cute to spook digital image Vampire Henry from our Rustic Sugar Range at Whimsy Stamps. How sweet is this image? Way too cute to spook, exactly how I like 'em!

That sweet bat on his head just makes me smile so much. I coloured these cuties with my Copic Markers. I added some silver to his medallion to make it shine, which shows a wee bit better in the image below.

I coloured up his eyes to look hypnotising and added the fun sentiment from the fabulous Dracula I Compel You stamp set. Don't you just love those lavender eyes?! I thought that'd be a really fun look.

I stamped the sentiments with white ink to look a bit like chalkboard writing, I thought it would be kinda fun, but in retrospect, I think I'd go for white embossing powder next time, it stands out just a little clearer. My kiddos love Hotel Transylvania, so of course, there had to be the Bleh, Bleh, Bleh on there too!

I used the fabulous Halloween Creatures Stencil to create the flight of bats in the top right hand corner of the card. The image below shows the stencil right after I'd inked through it. Such clever and quick elements to use! I really need to use my stencils more.

I added a subtle final touch to the cool tombstones with an older stamp I had in my stash, that had a fun take on the traditional British war time slogan, Keep Calm and Carry On. I wanted it to be a subtle effect as the other sentiments are the featured ones, this is just a lil' cherry for those that stop and look closely. I say stop and look, because I use my Halloween Cards as decorations and props during Halloween. I couldn't resist adding a Poe Raven to finish.

The next stop on the hop is @embellish.craft.love. Be sure to hop along and leave comments at each stop, as the giveaway winner will be chosen randomly from all of the comments! You have until Saturday, October 12th at midnight EST to enter. For another chance to win a $25 gift certificate, head over to the Whimsy blog!
