Wonderful Whimsy!

Friends, I have a treat to share with you today! If you've already popped by my Facebook Crafty Kiwi Mama page, then you'll have seen this promotion already, but if not, let me tell you ALL about it! We had a fun new designer come on board last year at Whimsy Stamps and let me tell you, it's a treat! This guys does cheeky and irreverent like none other! But in the cutest possible way. You just have to check out our digital images from him to know this is someone you'd have a real laugh with! Well Dustin Pike has given us all a laugh and boosted morale no end through this sweet offering of his fabulous TP Dudley image. Whimsy and Dustin are offering this fabulous image for free, to bring crafters and their family and friends delight during these isolation days. Oh what fun there has been on the Whimsy Facebook page with folks sharing their makes! I get such a kick out of seeing the new shares each day! Well, I have finally had a chance to create my own TP Dudley card and I had a blast. I think we should rename her 'Tallulah' though, (for obvious reasons, LOL).

Here is my take on TP Dudley, ahem Tallulah. I've coloured this cutie up with Copic Markers and decided on a pink and zingy green combo. I had my Gansai Tambi paints on the table and so snapped the pic with the card on that, because the colour worked so well! That fun 'Stinker' sentiment, is from a cheeky Whimsy Stamps set that was originally a Paper Door set and now one or two of the elements are available in store. They don't always re-release the products separately and it's a huge saving as the set, but I know they have this one in store again, which is fab. I just think this really looks like a 'stinker' moment, pun totally intended! The inside of the card will read either 'I forgot your birthday' or I really wanted printer paper, sigh. I can't decide between them right now!

I decided I wanted to create a card base to imitate the end of a toilet roll with all the layers visible. So I diecut a circular card base and then diecut a series of consecutive circles to layer up on the card. So that each layer looked like an additional layer on the roll, I also scored in the centre of each diecut ring, to appear like the layers of toilet paper. I did the scoring by running my score tool along the inside edge of the die. Worked a treat I think! The central panel I popped up on some lovely thick foam for good dimension. Quite a simple card really, but with that adorable character not much else is needed right?! I hope you'll pop in and grab your own TP Dudley and have a little fun too. Click on the thumbnail below to head straight to the freebies section in the Whimsy Store. Our amazing Crissy also has a gorgeous freebie there for you too. I'm working on a card to share for that, but feel free to grab them both while your'e there. You're welcome! Have fun!! Hugs and happy crafting xoxo
