Whimsy Stamps ~ May New Release!

Crafty friends I'm here with my first creation for our Digital New Release in May. It'll be a busy month for me, with two birthday boys this month. My little boy is counting down the days to his birthday, I can't believe my baby is going to 11! He's so excited, it's the cutest, so this mama has to get onto creating some birthday boy creations now! But first, let me share with you the fun card I made for this release.

I've created a rocker style card. These are so easy and fun to create. The base is a scalloped circle, with a plain circle on top, which I've folded in half and glued together to create the rocker base. I wanted the card to mirror her skirt layers, so kept the colours in keeping with this and added a little bit of lace to embellish the base layers a bit. I couldn't decide on a sentiment, so have kept it plain for now. Once I know who this will be for, I'll add the sentiment then. I usually create with someone in mind, which makes those little details easier, but this one was just for fun, so I'll add that later.

I wasn't overly sure what to do with that bit atop her head, which I note now, is coloured up as hair in the shop cover art, but I kinda like the idea of it being a head dress of some sort. When I coloured this, the cover art hadn't been finished, so I had to laugh at how similar my version was to that! I thought it'd be fun to colour this up with flame like colours and it was careful work with all those twiddly bits! The sparkle hasn't been well captured above, the little red heart, her shoes and the rose have lovely sparkle on them. I coloured up the pearls with a white pen and then added shimmer on top to create a pearlescent finish. In reality, there are lovely shimmery finishes on this image.

When I was a little girl, I had a red and white spotted Spanish Dancing dress, which this so reminded me of! Actually, I think the red was my big sisters, mine was blue I believe. It had big flouncy layers and was so fun to twirl in! So I had a lovely reminisce whilst colouring this. I don't have the castanets any more, but they were such fun as a little girl! I lament not having any for the photo. But did find some maracas!

We've a really gorgeous lineup of digital images released this month at Whimsy, with some gorgeous extras, not in our main line up, so be sure to visit the Digital Release page in store, to check them all out. I'll link a few at the end of this post for quick reference, but you really should pop by the Facebook Group too, to check out what my lovely teamies did with their new release images. Sigh, talented bunch that lot! I'll be back soon with another new release image, in the meantime, I wish you a wonderful week and happy crafting! xoxo
