Whimsy Stamps ~ August Digital Release

Hello again my crafty pals. I'm back as promised with the first of my creations with the latest digital release from Whimsy Stamps. We have some really lovely images in the New Release and some previously released images we are showcasing this month. My first creation uses one of our latest release images from the Sassy Cheryl collection. I created an extended scene and added in a few extra critters from a companion set also released this month.

I created this digital scene, by adding in the extra critters from the companion set. The cow I made quite small as I wanted it to look like it was further back in the distance but the duck and chicks, I brought up front and made a little larger for perspective. I wanted to add to the countryside theme, so put in a tree from an older stamp set called Family Forever. I just wanted a hint of it off to the side to bring some interest forward in the card. I added some gnarly roots to anchor it in the picture. This is such a simple creation, there's very little else to say. I added a digital sentiment when I created the scene and coloured the whole scene with my Copic Markers. I matted the image onto a layer of foam for dimension, then simple layering onto a scrap of red patterned paper I had on my craft table from a previous creation then onto the card base which is a lovely black cardstock with a shimmery sheen to it. I extended the fence in the scene a little bit to fit in the extra characters I'd added, but when I drew in the post behind the cow, I messed it up, so I went with it and turned that post into a stile. My extended family are farmers, so I've climbed over many a stile in my lifetime and I think it was a good fix for a silly mistake. I loved colouring up the old barn, I went for a weathered chipped paint look on the barn itself, but a nicer, recently painted finish on the silo. So fun playing around with Copic textures and patterns on this very CAS creation.

Thanks for popping in to visit today. I've been colouring and glittering and have a lovely time with some of the fairies from our latest release, so I'll be back soon with those, but in the meantime, I wish you a wonderful rest of your week. It's almost my Friday, so roll on the weekend! Hugs and happy crafting xoxo
