Whimsy Stamps ~ New Baby News

Hey lovely crafty pals, I hope your week is going well. Mine has been slow thanks to my hand injury. Not a lot getting done, as it's still really sore. One handed typing is so slow! I'm touch typist trained, so I usually type pretty fast, so you can imagine my frustration! I've been late posting things for this reason, but my hand is healing slowly, but surely. So I'm trying to do a little more each day. Today it's very sore, as I've overdone things a bit. But I'm determined to get this post written, so the brace is off so I can type more freely, it's so much faster!

I've made this card as a bit of lighthearted humour for new parents of a baby girl. The sweet image and funny sentiment is from the Before and After Clear Stamp Set designed by Deb Davis for Whimsy Stamps. Such a funny look at the raw reality of parenthood, no sugar coating here! Good to give a giggle to new parents who might be having a bit of a rude awakening to the realities of parenthood.

I ink blended around the image with Dried Marigold Distress Oxide, so it wasn't quite so stark and bright around the image. I just wanted a soft halo of colour. I popped up the diecut panel on foam for a bit of interest and dimension. I added tape behind the holes where the tiny diecut elements came out and then infilled these with loose glitter for a bit of sparkle. I added some tiny crystal heart embellishments around the image randomly for another bit of sparkle and interest. The sentiment I stamped directly on the pink cardstock with Memento ink in Rich Cocoa. I love pink and chocolate together. The image I coloured with Copic Markers in toning colours. A simple but fun card I think and the lovely Comic Burst Die adds such a fun finish!

Thanks for popping in today, I'll post again soon, just trying to catch up a little since this hand injury. Who knew a one handed life was so tricky?!! I tried doing the school run this morning and what a joke that was! Got half way, realising turning the steering well was a no go with this hand injury and I can't use the handbrake properly, so nope, not ready yet for driving. Thank goodness for my wingman, who drove home. Catch ya'll again soon. Hugs xoxo

What a fun card Wendy.
A gorgeous card Wends, and I love all the sparkly details.
What on earth have you done to your hand? I seem to have missed that news...
