Whimsy Stamps ~ You're Roarsome!

Hey crafty pals, I'm back today with a cute creation using the adorable die set again that I used previously featuring the sweet brontosaurus dinosaurs. I love this cute pair and you honestly don't need to do much to them to create a super sweet card. Some coloured cardstock or perhaps a silhouette card, there are lots of possibilities, my lovely teamie Ute, coloured up her cuties with loads of details, if you've not seen that post, I encourage you to take a look here. So there really are some great ways to work with this cute die set and they're at a great price point too, which is always a nice surprise!

I opted for this card, to do a little ink blending with some splattery finishes to create a dappled skin for the dinos, but chose not to add any more details, staying just with the diecut features. I was tempted to try and add some eyes or other details, but honestly, I'm not as skilled as Ute with my colouring, so I kept the look clean and simple. I know I need to get braver, but I'm not unhappy with this cute pair.

I paired these cuties with the wonderful diecut sentiment 'roarsome' that Whimsy brought out last year. I loved this release, there were so many wonderful elements to it and I'm slowly building my stash from that release as there were SO many fun elements I wanted to get, so it was fun to combine these two dies. I cut the word from textured cardstock that I'd been practicing splattering my Lindy's moon shadow sprays on. It had some really lovely lights in it where the mica settled, I didn't want to waste it! I think it looks a bit like the dino's have been splashing in puddles and sprayed it up on the sentiment, hehe, at least, that's the story I'm telling!

I used a gorgeous background paper from the Whimsy Stamps Slimline Paper Pack called Champagne, there was a page the right orientation with a wonderful burst from the base like a sunrise, which I thought worked well for this scene. I think the colours toned perfectly, so love how it came together. I turned the card into a shaker with a little acetate, some narrow foam and some gorgeous St Patrick's Day shaker elements from This Calls For Confetti, which tone perfectly, with their lovely mix of gold and green. That craft card frame was actually the 'waste' from a card I made back in 2019! I never throw those things away and it was such a perfect frame for this scene. You know I love to recycle and use up the scraps, so getting a card out of both the diecut and the surround was a win!

Thank you so much for stopping in today, this month has got away from me! We had a family birthday yesterday, so I was engrossed in the prep for that all last week and with our awful storms, it's been pretty full on. We had another deluge on Friday and we were all out up to our knees clearing drains, redirecting water, to stop it flooding the house! So stressful after recent events that went exactly the same way! I feel like we cannot relax now when the rain starts for fear it's going to be another deluge. Crazy weather! Politicians have got to stop saying Global Warming is not a 'thing'! Hugs xoxo

This is fabulous Wends and so fun with that lovely shaker element as a background. The die cuts all look great cut from your sprayed and splattered cardstock. I popped over to Ute's blog (can't help being nosy!) and you're right- her dinosaurs look amazing, a very talented lady- and what a lovely teamie you are to point it out!
