Whimsy Stamps ~ Thinking of You

Hey crafty friends, I had the sad need for a Sympathy card just before Christmas and these beautiful Quick Card Panels had just arrived. It's never easy creating a bereavement card when you actually need one, so I was happy to have these on hand. I made a whole lot of cards as it's sadly becoming one of my most used cards as the years go on.

These sets contain the most beautiful A2 card panels, which can then be cut, stamped on, distressed, however you like to finish your creations, you can do so with these. I chose to do a very simple decorative frame. They're just so beautiful, I didn't want to lose much of the design in my cuts, so was careful to choose frames that were big enough and worked well the designs.

I took these first sets of photos, in which the cards were 'complete' and perfect just as they were, but then thought about some simple embellishments, nothing too flashy, as I prefer very clean and simple for Sympathy cards, but something that toned and added a gentle extra touch, without being too blingy. So the photos below show these additions.

I also chose some beautiful plain coloured papers to back the designs, I'd just bought recently this paper pad from Scrapbook.com called Daybreak and the colours are divine! So I used the beautiful dusky purple toned panels for a couple of the cards above and then the soft brick colour for another couple of the cards.

I wanted to use the beautiful sentiment panels that are included with the sets, so I used my Quick Strip Die Set from Whimsy to cut them all out. The ones for the pink cards, I edged with a bit of ink so they sat into the scene better, but the ones for the blue cards were fine without inked edges. I played around with placement of the sentiments not wanting to cover too much of the beautiful designs and my little T Square ruler was handy for lining things up straight. The panel with the candle sconce, I decided to wrap some May Arts Fine Twine around before adding the sentiment over for a bit of texture and interest and I really like this one. My absolute favourite is the pink roses with the navel blue background, I just think that panel is so pretty! But they're all amazing and so easy to work with. The panels have a lovely heavy weight, which diecuts beautifully.

You can click through via the images above to the Quick Cards range. This was a new innovation by Whimsy just before Christmas and they started with some sweet and fun Christmas Quick Cards options, these stunning Sympathy sets are the latest offering and I'm hoping they keep them coming, because some days, I want to create, but just don't want to colour and these are fabulous to work with if you're short of time. I've got my eye on those fabulous chocolate themed heart ones too! How cool are they?!

Whimsy is changing the dates of their New Release to mid month now. Around Covid there were shipping issues which initiated the splitting of the release through the month, but as things have become more reliable again they're reverting to a single issue date mid month, so be sure to check back around January 15th for their first full release of the year. They may still do a mini release occasionally, but the main release will be mid-month. Thanks for popping in today, I'd love to hear what you think of these Quick Card Panels too. I'll be back shortly with another crafty adventure, this is shaping up to be a fun and full crafty year already! Hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo

A really lovely collection Wends, those images really are perfect and the sentiments are a little bit different too xx
What beautiful cards Wends, and gorgeous panels!! What a blessing to have had them on hand just when you needed them. Yes, as we get older, the birth and wedding celebrations get fewer and the funerals more numerous... not my favourite, but an inevitable fact of life...
Blessings
