Whimsy Stamps ~ Butterfly Wishes

Hey crafty friends, I'm popping in to share a cute shaker card with you today, that I made featuring the sweetest butterfly image from the latest release at Whimsy Stamps. This is such an adorable stamp set, I always love colouring up Krista Heij-Barber's images, they're cute and sweet and have a timeless charm about them.

I decided to make a full front shaker card using the fabulous Inverted Scallops Rectangle Die Set from Whimsy Stamps. This set is awesome and perfect for creating frames, including shaker frames. I gradient ink blended some pinwheels on the shaker background with one of Simon Says Stamp newer ink trios and a fabulous but sadly just retired stencil from Whimsy. It was still in store when I was creating this card, but the Whimsy Last Chance Sale is so good, items are going fast! So this stencil is no longer in stock at Whimsy and has now been retired. Well worth checking out what's still left as the deals are wonderful and there are still some really fabulous dies and stamp sets in there.

When I was building the shaker window, I noticed the white edge of the foam showed really obviously just inside the scallop boarder, so I did a little hack to make it 'disappear'. I ran a brush marker in the same tone along the inside of the foam so it matched the frame and then was no longer standing out as a white strip against the lovely plum colour. Cool trick you can do in any colour to match your cardstock when you're making shaker cards.

I had some ancient bling from Think Pink in my stash which worked well to fill this large shaker window. Some of the larger confetti pieces are just too big for regular and smaller shakers, but the big open face of this shaker window, made it possible to include these larger flower and leaf shaker elements, which I was really pleased about. I combined them with a lovely older mix from This Calls for Confetti featuring those pretty pink Autumn leaves called 'The Falling Leaves - Pink'. A fun full mix of interesting shaker bits, large and small.

The Simon Says Stamp Aster, Pansy and Petunia inks toned perfectly with the Gina K Plum Punch cardstock I used to cut the shaker frame from. The adorable butterfly image from Krista Heij-Barber is part of the latest release at Whimsy. The sentiment is from the same set, which I added some touches of sparkle to, which shows better in the little IG Reel I did. The image also has lots of sparkle on it. A fun sweet birthday card, perfect to celebrate a Summer birthday.

Thank you for popping in to visit my crafty friends. Life is a little crazy for me at the moment, so much going on, but I'll be able to pop around to visit my lovely blog buddies soon too, I apologise in advance for my 'all at once' comments as I catch up a little. In the meantime, do check out the Whimsy Last Chance Sale, it's SO good. I've picked up several favourites over the past few weeks, for a real steal!

I will be back soon, with another crafty adventure. I've a little catching up of posts to do, having got thoroughly swamped with admin' stuff, but all will be revealed on that soon and I can't wait to share! Hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo

Promarker colours used for the butterfly and flower. Pop up for closer look.
