Lili of the Valley ~ Sweet Rudolph ~ Ready for Christmas
Hey crafty friends, we have an Instagram Hop going on right now featuring the latest release from Lili of the Valley. It has the sweetest characters including Santa and Rudolph! I've created a scene for the hop with a lovely Whimsy Stamps Stencil which has a really wonderful forest building scene on it. I've inked up a few layers with different ink colours, blending the white areas so they tone with the stencilled areas giving it an almost hazy effect. I think it's really pretty and love how it turned out. I trimmed the little black edge off the snow mound at the base of the Christmas tree from the stamp set, so it sat in the scene better. I just love how the final card looks.
The ink colours I used for the forest background are Speckled Egg, Evergreen Bough and Pine Needles. I don't use this wonderful stencil enough, it really is lovely. This scene exceeded my expectations. I used it for this card previously, which is a much more pared down version of this scene. But I love how both came out. I think it paired so beautifully with this sweet Rudolph character.
I used a fabulous Lili of the Valley Sentiment from my Rubber Stamps Stash. I have years and years of wonderful Lili of the Valley stamps, so it's so nice to be able to use these now. I just stamped the sentiment straight onto the decorated card base with VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink. My favourite 'go to' ink for sentiments of late. This sentiment is no longer available as a rubber stamp, but it's available as a digital sentiment as part of their Inspirational Sentiments Set. Which is wonderful, quick an easy to download, print and use.
For my final scene, I added both a sweet Christmas tree from the stamp set and Rudolph, but I was tempted to only add Rudolph, as I think he sits in this scene so nicely on his own. What would you have chosen to do, which is your favourite?
Thanks for stopping in today friends. I hope you enjoyed seeing my third design for Lili of the Valley. I will be back with another crafty adventure soon and my fourth Lili of the Valley creation will follow shortly too.
I encourage you to check out the sweet creations my Lili of the Valley team mates have made with this gorgeous stamp set. You can see their designs shared in the We Love Lili of the Valley Facebook Group. If you're not signed up there and love these images, do consider joining. It's a lovely group of crafters who enjoy sharing their Lili of the Valley themed creations.
The current hop we are sharing is running until the 27th November and there is a wonderful prize of a £20 Gift Card to the Lili of the Valley Store. So well worth a visit if you're able to hop with us.
I will be back soon with another crafty adventure. In the meantime I wish you a wonderful and creative week. Hugs, Wends xoxo
(I share thumbnails to the elements I design with in order to make your search for them easier, in case you like something I've used. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever. It helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
