Sweet Stampin' ~ Thank You Cards
Hey crafty friends, I ought to have shared this when the challenge went live, but I'm on holiday still and have really needed the break from blogging and social media. So forgive the late entry! We are having a 'Thank You Cards' challenge at Sweet Stampin' right now and there are still a few days to enter the challenge. I think just after Christmas is a really good time to have a few Thank You Cards on hand.
As I mentioned, I'm on holiday, so I've pulled out a Thank You Card I've not yet blogged which I made for one of Zac's teachers. He was really encouraging and wonderful and Zac wanted to give him a big thank you at the end of the school year. I had this much older set from Krista Heij Barber, which is not longer in stock at Whimsy, but has the cutest characters, perfect for a teacher thank you card.
Zac wanted me to personalise the card for his teacher, so I pulled three stamp sets from Whimsy together to create the message. I really love the eclectic mix of fonts, I think it worked really well with the quirky characters. I kept the rest of the design very clean and simple which I think suited this piece.
I think these characters are adorable and had fun colouring them up with my Copic Markers. I kept the colours very 'true' to what you would see in a classroom. Though I opted for a yellow pencil rather than the red we commonly see in New Zealand class rooms. But I think that pop of yellow gives such a fun vibe to this card and I matched the background matte layer with this. I mounted the design on a landscape card, top folding along the long side. I used a lovely gunmetal grey shimmery cardstock from my stash for this.
Thanks for stopping in to visit, I hope you'll join us for our 'Thank You Card' challenge and I wish you a wonderfully creative week. Hugs and happy crafting Wends xoxo
(I share thumbnails to the elements I design with in order to make your search for them easier, in case you like something I've used. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever. It helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
