Zachy's Girl

I made this bookmark for a friends daughter's birthday and my son Zac when he saw it straight away said, it's my girl Alexia. Which nearly broke my heart, as she is his best little girl friend which we left behind in England and this image does look a bit like her! I had made the bookmark coincidentally for her big sister. But I'll definitely have to colour this up again for a card for her some day.

A very simple make, just featuring this gorgeous Sugar Nellie image called Mori and a fabulous Eleanor Roosevelt quote on the reverse. I coloured her with my Promarkers in muted shades of pink. I love the close colours and soft dreamy finish it gives. I paired it with a deeper pink organza ribbon over the cream satin ribbon to create the bookmark loop and fixed the cardstock either side to create the bookmark. I edged the cardstock layers with distress ink in Tattered Rose.

And a shot taken in different light, so you can see the glossy accents on the hearts and the tattered rose distress stickles used on the dress. I wanted to keep the image quite serene, not too much in the way of bling. So the distress stickles worked really well for this. A bit of interest and texture, without being flashy.
