Dirt Bikin' Dude
A quick share tonight of a male birthday card I made using a fantastic Kenny K image. I made this for a very talented young man who is making his way up in the dirt biking world. He's the son of our lovely Australian friends now living in the US. This image was so utterly perfect for him!
I do struggle with 'boy' makes, unless they're really young, it's got to be funky and embellishment light! So I went for a fab blackboard sentiment from a gorgeous scrapbook kit and washi tape. I have stacks of washi tape and very rarely use it. I really need to do so more, because this stuff is awesome! It fit my really simple idea just perfectly.
The card design is very CAS so I kept the colouring that way too, shying away from trying to add a path underneath the bike, but I did add some blobs of dirt to the tyres, which I think looks really cool. I was so pleased with how that came out.
The image has of course been inked with my fabulous Promarkers. I used just about every grey promarker I own on this to get all the different metallic effects. Pretty happy with it too. Love the flames on the helmet too, soooooooo fun to colour!
The fabulous sentiment set comes from the talents of Julie Billingsley via the Sweet Shoppe, one of my favourite places for gorgeous scrapbook papers and digital embellies. Check them out for some fabulous scrapbook kits and papers.
