You Know Too Much!
I've a tongue in cheek card to share with you tonight. This is my DT card for the current Fab 'n' Funky Challenge. We have a great sponsor this week, the fun and fabulous Bugaboo Digistamps. They have some super fun, super cheeky digistamps and I really enjoyed working with the one I used for my card. It's called 'Make it Snappy - Friends'. My lovely team mate Shirley is hosting the challenge this week and has chosen a brilliant theme since we had such fun stamps to work with - 'Laughter is the Best Medicine'. So we're looking for fun, frivolous, cheeky, funny cards this challenge.
I coloured this fun image up with my Promarkers, then wet embossed the blonde's necklace with some White Opal Liquid Pearls and Waterfall Stickles and used Diamond Stickles on the Brunette's. Looking at this pic now, I'm wondering why I haven't added Glossy Accents to the glasses. I think I'll have to do that before popping it in the post to my pal. I had grand schemes and ideas of fussy cutting the image and laying it over some 'wallpaper' like paper to fill the background, but I chose such a detailed paper and embellishment, that I stuck with a simple pale blue edge around the image. It's not overly clear here, but it does help the image 'pop off the page' in reality.
I liked the way the image frame, made it look like it was a polaroid, so I used this when making the design choices for the card. I went for a fun paper that had lots of travel related sayings over it and the bright colours picked up the colours I'd used in the image. I found a great page that had film strip type images, and cut that into strips to add a bit of detail. I'm not sure that the film strip paper is quite right for the backing paper, but I had an idea in my head and no other way of creating it. I think I'll be hunting down a 'filmstrip die' after this, as I think that would have worked better.
I added a computer generated sentiment to my card. I'd seen something similar to this sentiment somewhere before, but couldn't find any digistamps using it, so I just typed it up using a handwriting font and added it using 'Word' over the image, so it would appear under the picture. I think my Swedish pal (who this will be posted to) will get a giggle from this and she might even forgive my clashing papers if I'm lucky too!
I hope you'll join us with our fun 'Laughter is the Best Medicine' challenge at Fab 'n' Funky. I'm so keen to see what you all get up to. Do check out the hilarious stamps that Bugaboo our sponsors have on offer, they have a great range of humorous ones. Thanks for popping in today. I hope you have an awesome day and I'll see you again really soon. Hugs, Wends x
