The Sugar Bowl is Back!

I'm so excited that the Sugar Bowl Challenge has returned. I LOVE Sugar Nellie stamps. Just between you and me, I was gutted not to have made it onto the Sugar Bowl DT, but I have to admit, the girlies that did are the bomb, so I'm really looking forward to seeing what comes out of that little corner of the blogosphere over the next few months.

I'm super excited that the challenges have started up again and of course I want to make sure I have something to enter there, so I have a quick make ready to go while I'm working on another one. I think this stamp is so sweet for girly birthdays. It's called 'Best Day Ever' and it's now available as a digi, for a limited time as it's coming out of license.

If you like this gorgeous stamp, sprint over to Funky Kits and snap up this cute Sugar Nellie before she's no longer available! There are a bunch of my favourite Sugar Nellie stamps currently coming to the end of their license, these too can be found at Funky Kits for a limited time. Seriously cute rubber peeps, check them out! But not to waffle too long (oh you know I like to!) here's my lil' Sugar Nellie make for today.

I've used a gorgeous Maja Designs paper from their Vintage Summer Basics range. I loved the buttermilk yellow and pink combo in this paper, which worked well for the creamy card base I had in mind to use. I coloured the image to work in with the paper. I used the reverse of another Maja Design page to be the backing slip for the lace and ribbon. I didn't have quite enough ribbon left to tie a bow, so I drew the ends together and wrapped a charm around it to make a mini bow. I quite like how that worked out.

Have I said how much I love these Sugar Nellie's? What's not to love about this lil' cutie above? Even the lil' mousie is too dang cute for words. I used Stickles to add glittery accents here and there. I do love to make the shoes sparkly! I kept the colours all very close, so added shade on shade of the same colours using my Promarkers as always.

The little butterflies were offcuts from a Memory Box butterfly die from the same backing paper as I used to mount the image. The pearls are from a gorgeous Hobby House pack I won from Hazel France a while back, which contained a pack of Hobby House Self Adhesive Pearls in Candy Sugar colour. The shade was perfect for the colours in my card and I loved the varied sizes. The pretty pink lace I picked up from John Lewis in London in their little craft nook in the Brent Cross mall. The pink spotty ribbon was from the same Hobby House pack as the pearls.

So there you have it. A very simple make with some gorgeous elements. A bit of distressed edging here and there, a little bit of bling and a touch of glitter and my crafty work is done here. Catch you all again soon. I've had a fun day out with the kiddos and my lovely hubby, my sis and her lovely hubby, so it's back to reality and dinner duty for me! LOL. Big hugs, Wends x
