Dream Valley - Ready For Christmas
Oh my goodness, flying into home base by the seat of my pants today! I literally finished my DT card while you were all sleeping! LOL. Luckily for me, I'm on the other side of the world and that means I was just working on it this afternoon. But it was a close call! For our new Dream Valley challenge, we're keen to help you on your way with your Christmas card makes. So our challenge this fortnight is 'Getting Ready For Christmas'. So why not pull out your Christmas stamps and get crafting before the Christmas rush.
Our wonderful sponsor for this challenge is Robyn's Fetish. The Design Team were given some lovely stamps to play with. I chose the sweet image called 'Home For The Holidays'. This cute snowman with his Cardinal pal and his lil' birdie pal on his hat which I've coloured as a Robin. I loved these wee birds. I miss them now we're back in New Zealand and the Squirrels too with their fluffy winter tails. They were such a lovely sight as Christmas drew near. So it was nice to colour up this frosty friend and dream of days gone by, when we just might have had snow for Christmas!
I've used some lovely papers from a 12x12 set I had in my stash. I don't recall the brand, so if anyone knows by looking, please let me know so I can update the details. I've inked the edges of the papers in ruby red ink from the 'Close To My Heart' range. The pretty snowflake is from Joy Crafts and the Christmas Tree is a Marianne Designs die. I also cut a little note page using a die from Lil' Inkers, to write a note to Santa on. It reads "Dear Santa, Please, please, PLEASE can we have snow for Christmas. Love, Zac & Georgie.

I've used Liquid Pearl on the Christmas tree to look like snow on the boughs and added Glitter Magic on the snowflake, which shows better in a different light. I also added some diamond stickles on the sentiment edge and image edge after I'd inked them, just to add that little extra detail. The stitched edge die that I used to cut the image is also a Lil' Inkers die. The sentiment is from a Crafter's Companion Bebunni stamp set called Christmas Story. I love all the different sentiments that come with these sets. Such a bonus!
The pic above shows my card in a different light, so that you see the lovely shine on the papers and embellishments. Thanks for popping in today. I hope you've enjoyed your visit and are fired up to get cracking on your Christmas makes. If you are, be sure to join in the challenge at Dream Valley and do pop in and check out the gorgeous makes from the rest of my lovely DT buddies. Hugs, Wends x

(Though in the South of the UK there's general panic and everything shuts down as soon as there's any snow - me, I come from the North, where we're made of sterner stuff lol! ;) )
