Sweet Stampin' - Red for Remembrance
Ooh I do have some exciting news to share with you today. You may have noticed a new badge pop up on my blog sidebar this week, and I'm super excited to share this news with you now. I was invited last week to join the fabulous Sweet Stampin' DT. I am both honoured and a little bit in awe, as this DT is full of some of my favourite blog pals whose work I hugely admire, so you can imagine the little happy dance I did after that invitation!
This invite came right before my busiest week in recent times. With a visit from my brother over from Sydney and a huge celebration at my son's Playcentre, that I am on the organising committee for. So a huge week, topped by a huger weekend and in the middle of this all, my first card for the Sweet Stampin' DT.
The team is taking this week to remember the courageous servicemen who've fought for our countries, lived and died to protect their families and our future generations. There are lots of wonderful Poppies on the blog in honour of this.
My Grandpa's memorial follows. He lost his life in service when my mummy and her twin sister were only 1 month old.
I was limited for time this week and didn't have any poppies in my stamp collection, I opted for a gorgeous Greeting Farm stamp and a CAS style card. I made this for my gorgeous British pals birthday. She moved to New Zealand this time last year, so it was lovely to give it to her in person. Coloured up this way, it definitely resembles my beautiful sassy pal. She's every bit the glamour doll, so I think this fab Greeting Farm stamp suits her really well.

I used a black and white spot washi tape for the trim beside the image and a sentiment tag cut with a La La Land die called Stitched Tabs. I really like the shapes in this set. Perfect for this sort of 'tucked in beside the image' layout. I was so pleased the sentiment fit just perfectly the shape of the die. I used a simple birthday sentiment on the inside to finish the card. This sentiment is from a Tina Wenke clear stamp set.
I coloured this funky Greeting Farm stamp with my Promarkers and added some glittery touches here and there with Stickles glitter glue. If you pop the pic up to a bigger size, you might just see these extra details.
The Sweet Stampin' Challenge is sponsored this week by Crafty Ribbons who are offering the lucky winner of the challenge a beautiful set of ribbons from their store. Do check out their gorgeous range of ribbons here.
I look forward to seeing what you make for our challenge so come on over to the Sweet Stampin' blog and join our 'Red for Remembrance' challenge this week. I know you'll enjoy visiting my Sweet Stampin' Teamies and checking out their beautiful creations this week. They're all fabulous.
Well that's it from me today. I'll see you again soon with another crafty adventure. Big hugs, Wends x
