Fab 'n' Funky - Christmas!
The days are whizzing by right now. I've still so much prep to do for Christmas and plans to make, but I'm another one up on my Christmas cards! It's been so fabulous this year having one Christmas challenge a month here at Fab 'n' Funky. I bet you're thanking us now right? I'm so pleased to have got ahead with some of my Christmas makes and this one is rather special, as it's to celebrate a family member's happy state this Christmas. Not long now until baby arrives.
It's our final Christmas challenge for the year here at Fab 'n' Funky and Sassy Studio Designs is our wonderful sponsor this time around. The design team were given some really fabulous images to work with. The one I've chosen has been in my stash a while, waiting for the right time to use it and this is definitely it, with one of my kin due to have their babe really soon.
I've been chasing my tail all month, as I've not only Christmas to prepare for, but quite a number of family birthdays in December and of course my Swedish best pal's birthday, so I've been busy prepping parcels and making cards for those special days. This card was made with the clock ticking loudly in my ear! I just managed to finish photographing it and uploading it minutes before it was due to go live on the blog. So, sweet and simple was my approach with this card. I've used a gorgeous designer paper from one of my favourite Christmas paper pads by Panduro Hobby called 'Tis The Season. I really do like this paper pad. I've used it loads, you can see some of my other makes using it here, here and here.
I won a gorgeous prize from The Ribbon Girl recently and the gorgeous Hessian Ribbon and Kort och Godt rolled rose is from that win. So is the fine twine that I've used to create the loops behind the Poinsettia bloom and also that I doubled with a pretty pink bakers twine to dress the top of the tag. I still have plenty of little treasures tucked away from that win, which I'll bring out over the next few makes. But let's just say, I'm sooooooooo happy with all the gorgeous bits I've just added to my stash! My thanks to Crafty Little Fairies who I won them through!
The shimmery Poinsettia is a gorgeous red satin mirri card that I bought from a limited run through Joanna Sheen recently just for the purpose of making these gorgeous Poinsettia blooms. It's such a fabulous card and makes the Poinsettia look really lush. I've twisted the petals at the base slightly to give them a lift and add dimension and finished with a pink pearl in the centre to echo the other pearls I've used in the corners and in the centre of the rolled rose. I've distressed all the edges of the papers and used a white washed red colour core mat behind the image. As that famous lil' meerkat would say 'Simples'. A couple of final details to mention, I've used a stamp set around the image from a Personal Impressions set called 'Warm Winter Wishes' which I bought from Funky Kits and the beautiful sentiment is a Stampendous stamp.
That's it from me today. I'll be swinging by again soon with another crafty adventure. I hope all yours are going well in the lead up to Christmas. 13 days to go! Eeeek!!! Head on over to the Fab 'n' Funky challenge blog for more inspiration for your Christmas makes. My teamies have some really gorgeous ones to share. In the meantime I wish you all the joys of the Christmas season and none of the stress! Hugs, Wends x
