Sweet Stampin' - New Beginnings

Woohoo, it's time for a new Sweet Stampin' challenge, our first for 2015. So I'm here today to share my Design Team make with you. We are embracing all things 'NEW' at Sweet Stampin'. So we're keen to see your cards and creations that showcase something 'new'. A new baby, a new home, new job, new stash! As long as you show that your creation celebrates something new, you're in with a shot at the prize. Just remember to follow our simple rules and be sure there's some stamping on there! After all, that's what we're all about.

I have chosen to make a 'New Baby' card for this challenge. I say card, but in actual fact, it's more of a 'New Baby Diary'. I've made a concertina type card and decorated both sides, tying it with a simple ribbon fixture to keep it all together. I've been looking forward to sharing this, as I've not made a card like this before, and I was so pleased with how it came together!

The papers I've used on the front page are DCWV Nana's Nursery - Baby Girl. Which I thought worked really well with the sweet animal prints I've used. I also used a gorgeous digital paper set and several of the elements from The Sweet Shoppe designer Zoe Pearn's lovely new baby set called 'Baby of Mine'. There are so many great elements in this set and I honestly could have made this book twice the size! All the colours and elements worked so well together considering they were from stand alone sets. So I'm super happy with this little make. I've another new baby make to craft for soon, so I'll have another play in the next few weeks with similar elements.

The sentiment I've used on the front page is from Tina Wenke for Stampavie, from the Happy Birthday set. Stampavie sadly closed shop in 2014, so get them while you can!

I've used a lot of gorgeous Lili of the Valley stamps and sentiments on this card and I've also used some pre-coloured images that the lovely artist Sheri McCulley allowed me to use this way after I contacted her telling her how much I loved her work! So I've interspersed these gorgeous images to be little points of interest for the bubba as she grows. I think these Woodland Tails characters are really enchanting and work so well with the sweet Lili of the Valley images I've used.

I decorated the box lid with a Nana's Nursery page (how cute are those wee critters?!) and used one of the elements from the Sweet Shoppe Zoe Pearn digital paper set as the label for writing the address details on.
